I have used several different brands of dishwashers, but I prefer KitchenAid over all of the other brands. It really simplifies my cleaning chores. I do not have to rinse off my dishes before I load them into the dishwasher. It has two separate water sprayers, one is located directly under the top rack and the other water sprayer is larger and located under the bottom rack. Another great feature of my dishwasher is that the upper rack can be raised or lowered or tilted by adjusting the pullout knobs located on both sides of the upper racks. This allows you more room for tall glasses, especially with stems on goblets. You can also remove the utensil holder located on the bottom rack if you need more room for larger platters or pots and pans.
You can choose this style in different colors, I picked the black color to match the other appliances in our kitchen. This black color cleans up easily and shines after using Windex to clean the exterior. The control panel is very easy to use and has the following settings:
Cycle Selection:
Delay-6-4-2
Pots/Pans
Normal
Light/China
Rinse/Hold
Dry
Wash Selection:
Pots/pans
Normal
Light/China
Rinse/Hold
Energy Saver Dry
Heated Dry
We always keep our dishwater set on the normal cycle with the normal wash selection and the Energy Saver Dry. My everyday dishes are dishwater safe, microwave safe and oven safe. So I have never had any problems using these settings on my dishes. Since I use Cook Essentials Cookware, I usually do not put them in the dishwasher because they have a special coating and are easy to clean right after use. I am very happy that my dishwasher leaves my drinking glasses sparkling clean with no signs of lipstick of fingerprints. I prefer to use a powder detergent, but that is really up to you.
There is a soap dispenser inside the door that has two parts; prewash and manuel. I always put my powder detergent into both parts since I do not rinse my dishes before loading them into the dishwasher. KitchenAid also has the sure clean water heating and quiet scrub features. I do think that this dishwasher is slightly louder that the other ones that I have used, but I think it definitely cleans better! I never have to rewash my silverware or dishes because it does a great job of cleaning. I have been over to friend's house to help her unload her dishwasher and I noticed that her dishes do not always get clean the first time. She has a different brand of dishwasher. I also think that you can overload your dishwasher and you should space your dinnerware so the water can reach every dish.
I have always loved the KitchenAid Brand and this dishwasher lives up to its name! I am now hoping that Santa will bring me a KitchenAid Mixer If I am a good girl this year! Including shipping & handling and installation, our KitchenAid cost us about $540.00
