| scrid's Full Review: Hewlett Packard PSC 2175 Thermal Inkjet Multifunc... |
Fed up with lack of desk space due to a separate printer and scanner hogging up valuable real estate, I was on the market for a good multifunction printer.
I do allot of digital photography and my old printer would not do 8 x 10 photo quality prints. I was determined to get that feature this time. After looking at what all available brands had to offer I decided to stick with HP.
I landed on the HP 2175.
The sales kid tried to sell me one that does border to border printing but I thought who needs a photo at 11" x 8.5"...they don't make picture frames that size anyway unless their custom sized. All I want is 8 x 10" standard.
So I bought it...tossed my old scanner and printer...and made room for it on my desk.
Photo quality is really nice, it is very easy to use and accepts a wide range of memory sticks. The memory stick has a cool feature of printing a selection page with thumbnails and SAT style answer dots next to each thumbnail. By filling in the dots next to what picture and size you want...then lay the copy on the scanner. the 2175 will scan the document and print the selections you have made in the sizes you selected. I have had this unit since May 04 and it has performed flawlessly so far.
