Watch it when switching plansJun 16 '01 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line Make sure you ask about certain plans and fees, they can save you money if worked right. This is a good case of having a lesson learned. I was on an AT&T wireless plan that gave me 250 anytime minutes, and 3000 night and weekend minutes. I wanted to switch over to the digital one rate of 450 minutes where you can get all you local and long distance for one price of 59.99. Great plan for me considering that I was moving to Hawaii. I wanted everyone back in the main land to have a local number for them to reach me at. Anyway, I go online and take a look at my bill ant it was 60 dollars. I was charged for the digital one rate for time that I wasn't even on it. You see when I called on the 6th of June they told me that Everything would be back dated to the 8th of May. Now instead of telling me to call back on the 8th of June when the billing cycle starts and save me $30.00 they just said that they were going to back date it. I was under the impression that they would pro-rate the charges. They didn't though. So as a word of advise ask the questions and read between the lines. If you ask me this was a bunch of bull and I am going to call and get this fixed. Make sure you ask when the billing cycle is going to start when switching plans with the same company. Ask if fees are pro-rated so you don't pay for service not rendered. |
