My 6-month gift subscription to wine.com is quite simply the worst gift I've ever given. I've never given a gift that was so problematic and embarrassing.
My original order was placed on November 24, 2004. This was meant to be a "thank you" for my new brother and sister-in-law for hosting the wedding of my wife and I. Today is January 12, 2005 and nobody has yet received any wine. I've had to place three calls to customer service thus far and although everybody is quite polite, the results aren't there as this subscription is still not being fulfilled.
In addition to the 3 phone calls I've placed to customer service, my sister-in-law has placed about 5 phone calls of her own asking for updates and clarifications. She too has gotten nowhere in getting the wine shipped.
As recently as January 3, 2005, I had been told that the first month's wine had shipped. Yet they did not give me a tracking number and still can give me no details about that shipment.
After writing this review, I intend to call Mastercard and report that the 274.62 that wine.com charged to my credit card back in November of 2004 was fraudulent.
Save yourself the stress and embarrassment: avoid wine.com.
