Why would I need a product like this, I wondered to myself, when I first learned about it. Then one day I found myself in a hotel room, with several co-workers, ans we each had to take turns using the Wired HS connection in my room. If only I had some way to easily create a wireless network, so we could all use the connection at the same time, wouldn't that be great.

Well the D Link AirPlus G DWL-G730AP Router, does just that, and MORE!. It can also be used as a wireless access card for connecting to existing wireless networks, and act as a wireless router. It has really come in handy, and it comes in a nice small leather carrying case. It's small and compact, so I just throw it into my computer bag when ever I head onto the road.

The initial set up was not smooth, I had to call D Link support, but they stepped me through the setup on my laptop, and I was up and running in a few minutes. Those more familiar with Wireless and Network settings in WinXP, will likely not have any set-up problems.

The price keeps going down, I paid $49 after mail-in rebate. Can't beat it - 802.11G on demand!
