Pros:Works to a certain degree
Cons:Strong chemical smell and does not remove stains on contact
The Bottom Line: It's good for removing heavy stains, like burns on pots but it stinks and may irritate your skin. It does not remove on contact.
I have seen this product on TV so many times and became very impressed with it's cleaning power.
I have found that this product is especially good for removing burnt residue in your pots and pans. I have burned my stainless steel pots so many times but I didn't have to buy new ones because of CLR. I had to soak my pots overnight to get the burnt stains out. Take note: CLR does not remove the stain on contact. For best results, I advise that you soak whatever you want to clean for two days. I find that after soaking my pot for one day, I still have to scrub vigorously. But still the stains came out easier than without CLR. Should you decide to soak it overnight, I suggest to rinse your pot (if you will be using it for pots) thoroughly. As most of the time the smell stays after soaking and there might be chemical residue in the pot that can be harmful.
Caution for all: CLR really smells. It has a strong smell of chemical that might be harmful to young kids and adults too. I am positive, that the strong odor can have a harmful effect. I am about to switch to another product that claims to do the same things but does not stink so bad.
I would recommend to use rubber gloves when using this product. Product is soo strong that it can irritate your skin. My hands became itchy after cleaning my pots.
By the way, I tried it on my oven and it does not work. In short, this is only useful for some items that you can soak with it overnight.
