Well, Mr. Phil, you didn't really expect me to review Walmart did you? I didn't want to ruin my rep around here! Ha! Thanks for the compliment, friend.

Whew! Thank goodness you ended your little litany on a positive note. I was about to go outside and bury my head in a snow drift! Let's see.........about those privileges. Today I had the privilege of cleaning up dog poop because little Armani couldn't go outside in the blizzard. Most of all, Marsh, I am privileged to know you....the sweetest little smart as# I know!

I notice they have many (Reply to this comment)

gift categories, as you pointed out: gifts for the pet lover, gifts for the wine lover, gifts for golfers, etc. However, I did not notice the "gifts the really poor can afford"! Did you miss something? Oh wait! This is Saks. I was thinking it was Sacks, which is where I can get my jeans for 8.50, not $89.50. Whew! Sorry Deb... :)
Anyhoo, I'm a little bothered by this statement you made:
If your gifted child is very special, you might purchase the Airflow Sky King airplane in shiny red or pink for $440.
Am I not a child? Am I not gifted? And am I not special? Oh, and in my heart, am I not yours? Then where the f*ck is my Airflow Sky King Airplane? (lmao again!) And I don't want to hear any tired excuses anymore, all right? You either love me or you don't, and you'll either follow through or you won't. So don't give me stories about it arriving on horse sometime soon, okay?
But I'll leave this on a positive note, all right? I hate most people who shop at Sak's. Perhaps it's envy, or perhaps it's the fact that I was a nanny in a very swank part of Pittsburgh where the homes sell in the one million dollar range. I met a lot of families during interviews, and I met a lot of wealthy moms while taking Ben to activities. Most of them were extremely insensitive to the needs of others, pompous, arrogant, and clueless in matters of the heart.
But see, you shop at Sak's, and you're anything but clueless about matters of the heart. So you've restored my faith in people who can spend a grand on a handbag, or $90 for a pair of jeans. I live on $40 a week, after my bills are paid. But you know what? Even if I could afford expensive "things," I doubt that I'd take any pleasure in them. I'll keep my Lee's and my tee shirts, and my soul. As you've kept yours, in spite of the privileges you enjoy. I highly commend you, girlfriend. And I mean that sincerely.

Ms. Peggy!
IPO money is fun isn't it? So glad that you played a little at Saks. I have spent so much there, I thought I would write a review to help pay for it all! (yeah right!) Thanks for stopping by, Peggy.

I only bought there once when on business travel in Palm Desert (my company just went IPO and Ms. Peggy had some cash to spend LOL!) but I still love to go in and browse whenever I'm near one. And they do have some great buys on their clearance racks.
Don't tempt me to shop online. Bad girl!
Nice review,
Peggy

Thanks, Bonnie! You mean I still owe you an e-mail?
I feel badly, and promise to write very soon. I have heard of B. Altman's. I haven't heard of them in years, though. Did you at least get a wrap dress out of your "fling thing" with Diane's nephew? Sorry that you haven't felt well. Is there a chance that you have Glaucoma? Yikes!!!! I will be sending you good vibes that the test results are negative.
So good to hear from you!

Sure has been a long time since getting an email from you, like MONTHS, but anyway I have been sick for a few days and have no voice and now waiting for results of Glaucoma test to see if I have it or not, get them on Monday - on pins and needles waiting and wondering.
I had a thing with a nephew of Diane Von Furstenberg years ago, he was some Hollywood producer that split with his model wife for awhile and moved next door to me!
I just posted on the Short Hills Hilton review that I used to live in that area and got my first credit card there - B. Altman & Co. Any idea if that store still exists? I missed it when I moved to CA.

LOL ~ you are quick off the mark aren't you Deb :)
I had kinda thought you may have taken pity on me and offered me the gift but I was too slow on the uptake.
Anyway, I figure I will just have to save up so that I can fly on over and go shopping with you at the real Saks.
Take care you!

Awwwwwww! Holly! Bad me! I forgot to state that they do not ship internationally. So sorry to get your shopping juices flowing for nothing. I have updated my review to state that information. You may have noticed that you could order for delivery in the US, in case you want to send a fellow Epinionator a present! :)
Thanks so much for pointing that out to me.

Hey there Deb,
I got so revved up by your review that I headed straight on over to saks.com to check it out. Most upset to discover they don't do International Shipping (sigh)
It's probably just as well in the long run and I did have loads of fun 'window shopping' so all was not lost.
Take care and I hope your winter is going well, things are looking a bit rough for you all over there lately.

Melissa~
Perhaps I have met your former mother-in-law, as I certainly have had a few things altered at Saks over the years. I do love the NYC Saks, as they carry so many designers. I even love the junior department...so happening! Lucky you with the new Marc Jacobs bag. I love a guy with good taste!
I so appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Saks! Saks! Saks! (Reply to this comment)

Hi Deborah,
When I was a teenager, Saks (NYC) was one of my favorite after-school (and occasional "during" school) shopping destinations. I still love it! They don't carry anything you can't get at other stores, but they have the most exceptional service. My former mother in law worked as a dressfitter at Saks in Chicago for many years, and when she retired, she got to keep her 30% discount. Losing that discount was a real bummer when my ex and I got divorced ;-)
Excellent review! Still, I don't know that I'd want to give up that wonderful Saks ambience by shopping there online. Steve bought me a gorgeous black Marc Jacobs "Stella" at the Wilshire store, and it arrived at our house (in Portland) beautifully wrapped and packaged.

Hey Patricia~
see we wrote on the same day. I am such a good bargain shopper, tell me what you are looking for and I can find it for you, and at a good price too!
I think that Saks was the first credit card I ever had, and the rest is history!
Thanks for stopping by and the sweet comment.

That is unusual and nice that they have live online help! But I guess I will only be 'windows' shopping this online store unless I win a lottery or something.
So glad to see the 'most helpful' ratings, I wish I could give one.

Saks Fifth! (Reply to this comment)

Toula loves this store. While she's inside shopping, I usually go through the "storyline" thing in front of the store (during Christmas) and then head over to the Kenneth Cole store just a couple of blocks down...
Exceptional writing - no surprises there!
