The Bottom Line Fun, happy, upbeat... well worth every penny...
I attended a Great Big Sea concert at the Vogue theatre in Vancouver that opened with Melanie Doane way back in the 90's... I'd only heard one of her songs before (Adam's Rib), but I was instantly captured by her voice. The songs were just superb. Emotion stirring and real, I found her songs to be very relevant to life. She is an excellent musician. She played the piano and the violin on stage flawlessly. A few weeks later I purchased one of her albums, and her songs are continually my favourites. Her slower songs are the best ones. She's highly under-rated and a true gem of the folk/pop industry.  |
