Pros: extremely easy to maneuver, great for reaching high places

The Bottom Line: This is a great concept with a few flaws, for the ability to clean hard to clean places it does the job though.

| artemis8's Full Review: Mr. Clean MagicReach Starter Kit |
I am not a cleaner, that's why I pay someone to come to my home and do it for me. However when I received the Mr. Clean MagicReach from Hass MS&L I suddenly became obligated to do some cleaning on my own so I could review their new product.
I have to be honest my cleaning lady does a really good job so I had some trouble figuring out what I could clean where I could actually see how well it worked. I did offer the MagicReach to her to use, but she declined. So it was up to me to use an evaluate. Last week I noticed a line of dirt developing along the top of my shower. It was out of normal reach so the MagicReach seemed perfect.
I put together the MagicReach when I first received it and it actually was sort of a pain to put together there are three pieces that fit together to create an extending arm. I fit the first part together just fine, but the second piece went in too far and I couldn't get it out. I had to have my husband use some tool to pull it out. After which I was able to get it together by being more careful that I didn't push it in too hard. Once they were connected though it was easy to telescope the pole and attach the head part, which in fact looks very much like the head of Stewie from The Family Guy.
The package came with the pole pieces, the removable head, 2 mop cloths and 2 tub/shower cloths. I opened the tub cloth and easily attached it to the head. It looked like the cloth is supposed to attach over the top of the head and at the bottom. I couldn't see how it attached at the bottom, but it still stayed on pretty well and seemed to work well enough. There was a citrus smell to the cloth once I coated it in water, per instructions, which was rather strong, but pleasant.
I extended the pole to its fullest and got to work scrubbing the top of the shower. It was very maneuverable and did an excellent job of scrubbing everywhere I wanted it to. The head moves side to side sort of horizontally as well as turning in a circular motion, which allowed me to change the position and scrub the dirt away with no problems.
One problem I did have though was that because I couldn't figure out how to attach it at the bottom of the head I think my scrubbing was too hard on it and it ripped at the pocket part on the top. Fortunately I had cleaned the dirt already and was done. But I didn't use it very long and would have been disappointed if I had intended to do additional cleaning.
I did not use it to mop, because my floors get cleaned and didn't need mopping, but I did sort of practice and it was as easy to move on the floor as it was to move on the shower wall. The flexibility of the head is simply amazing. And it detaches so you can hold it in your hand using the handle sort of like an iron and get easy-to-reach surfaces.
The info on the box it came in reminds you not to flush the disposable pads and to flush your eyes with water if they come in contact with the pads. Also it says not to use on natural stone or colored grout or non-sealed tiles, unfinished, oiled or waxed wooden boards or carpet. Fortunately none of these were of concern to me.
Overall I liked the concept, and the ability to do so much, but I had problems assembling it and the pad did rip. However it did clean my problem spot well and quickly. I can only give this product 3 stars because of the problems I had with it, but I still do recommend it.
