I joined Gamefly because I have been an extremely satisfied Netflix customer for years. Also, several of my co-workers had already joined Gamefly and liked their selection. My co-workers let me know that they were extremely slow, so I wasn't surprised when it took a week for my games to arrive. Over the course of 5 months I rented a total of 3 games from Gamefly so I called and cancelled as it was not worth the money. That is when the problems started.
They claim they did not receive one of the games I returned. Coincidentally it was a newer title. They charged me the full price even though the buy it now price was about half of that. When I called to complain, their customer service was rude and only said that they would credit my card once they receive the game. After reading the other reviews on this site, it doesn't seem likely that they will ever own up to receiving the game. If you notice, all of the favorable reviews are from people who have never cancelled. Those poor people are in for a rude awakening when they do. My advice to them is to send the games back via registered mail.
When I mentioned this experience to my co-workers who recommended Gamefly, two of them have cancelled their service with Gamefly and both of them had identical problems. This company will be out of business soon enough because you cannot build a successful business by screwing those who you depend on for business.
