Monks, Goats, and a big mug o' beer: what more do you need?
by beerfly | Jun 20 '01
Moza's a great put-down to anyone who disses all Latin American beers. I've not had a Latin American beer to equal it.

Roscoe Village must be quite a place: I had some great beer there at the Village Tap last spring when I was in town for WhiskyFest. They might remember me, I brought Michael Jackson in. He liked the beer, was not happy with the food. Maybe next time we'll try this Guatemalan joint. Chicago is a great place for offbeat imports, you're lucky.

Ordered a Moza (and then very quickly, and perhaps cavalierly, a second, not realizing at the time that it was a hard-to-find beer rather than just one I'd not heard of) last night at a Guatemalan place called El Tinajon in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago. Poured in a frosty mug, the stuff was absolutely delicious and a great accompaniment to our various tamales, burritos, etc.

Re: SEALS raid on Bryson's DBF.... (Reply to this comment)

Actually, I'm headed up to Rochester next Monday, and I might find more at that. Beers of the World has a great selection of seldom-seen beers from odd countries; I got a Slovak porter there once that was great.
As for pee-flavored, well, gosh, Kurt. I'm not familiar with the taste o' pee, so I couldn't tell ya!

SEALS raid on Bryson's DBF.... (Reply to this comment)

Nice guy.

Pumps us up and then says, "It's gone, and you probably won't be able to find it again."

You beerwriters are all the same....

As to those "pee-colored" others, congratulations on having the professional restraint to add "flavored" where it could certainly apply.
