I have always been an avid reader of military literature and war stories. I joined the service in 1986 with intentions of going in the U.S. Armys elite Green berets. Since then, I have read every novel that I can get my hands on about War, specific battles and particular units. I have always sought books that are written by soldiers who were there! The two books that I have just recently read are Delta Force Americas Elite Counter Terrorist Unit and Recondo - LRRPS In The 101st . These are both accounts of actual men and the actual battles that they have fought in. They are the kinds of books that I have always enjoyed most.
When I deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom, I kept a Daily journal from the day I started training to the day that I was medevaced. In the back of my mind, I thought that I may write a book about my experiences in the U.S. military. I was medevaced after just two months in Iraq, so I did not have a lot of information. I only had two months of time in the combat zone; this would make for a very short story. However, my father and wife thought that I could include a short biography of my life and along with all of the other missions and time in the service. Now if I did all of that, it might make for an interesting 200 page book.
I started writing my book after my first surgery. I have so much time on my hands that its ridicules. You would think with that much time, a person could write a lot. I have several issues that make it difficult. Mainly that I can only type one handed. The other issue is I have a bad eye, so I see double. Not to mention the fact that it is very hard to write a quality book! Its a lot tougher than I figured it would be! After every surgery, I get to take convalescent leave to heal. The problem that I was having is my book is being typed on my computer in my room. So when I was home, Id type some on my book and e-mail it to myself, so I could get it onto my computer in Fort Lewis. As you can imagine, it was a pain and didnt work very well.
When I was in Iraq, I seen a lot of the younger soldiers wearing what they called, thumb drives on their dog tags. They said that they could keep all of their important information on these small memory sticks. I liked the idea, but didnt give them much thought at the time. Then, while walking around the computer section of the PX looking for a printer, I spied one of these, Data Sticks. I thought, Man, one of those would work great for working on my book at home as well as the barracks. I was not sure how they worked, but believed that I could figure it out. I purchased the Centon 128 MB DataStick III.

Final Thoughts
I was surprised at how easy this product is to set up. I didnt know anything about using these flash / pen drives. So I figured that it would take some time to learn how to use the product. It comes with the very small, compact Centon 128 MB DataStick III and some software. This software uploaded on to my computer with no problems. I was eager to see how this new gadget worked. I right clicked on my file, where my book is. My book is all saved on my desktop in Microsoft Word format. Then I clicked on send to, then I seen the new drive. It was available as drive J:. I saved the book to drive J: and that was it. My entire book was saved to the Centon 128 MB DataStick III in a few seconds. So I was able to figure it out in a few minutes. The Centon 128 MB DataStick III is very user friendly and quite easy to use.
I took the Centon 128 MB DataStick III and the software home with me during my last leave. I loaded the software onto my desktop computer at home and uploaded my book to that computer in no time at all. Man that was much easier than trying to write a book on two computers, which are a thousand miles apart. This was definitely the answer to this simple dilemma. This little datastick is awesome. It is built very well. It has a thick protective plastic coating over the datastick, itself. It also has a plastic cover for the USB port. The flash drive is built sturdy. The main and obvious feature that I like is its size. This thing is the size of your little finger. It takes up very little room in your briefcase or purse (not that I carry a purse). It wouldnt look cool, an army guy walking around with a purse.
If you want to get your files from one place to another without dragging a laptop around, the Centon 128 MB DataStick III is an excellent option. You do not need anything with it, no batteries, or cables. AS long as your laptop or desktop has a USB port, you can use the Centon 128 MB DataStick III. These come with several different storage capacities. You can get them from 32 MB clear up to 1 GB. These datasticks can be used for storing about anything. You can save MP3 files, Word, applications and photos. I wish I would have purchased one sooner. I have nothing but praise for theCenton 128 MB DataStick III. I give this awesome product five of five stars.
Thanks for the read,
