The Bottom Line Despite the controversy over using natural herbs to allieviate everyday symptoms, I have nothing but good results with the vitamins I have tried.
Recently I have had migraine headaches that I thought would be the death of me. I couldn't sleep at night and couldn't function during the day. I had never had a problem with headaches before and nothing I seemed to take did a bit of good. My boyfriend's mother is a nurse and told me that she takes herbal vitamins rather than synthetic ones and told me I should give them a try. I was open to anything and went to our local natural food store to try to find some relief. I told the clerk my problem(s) and she suggested FeverFew. I had never heard of it before but gave it a try anyway. I also picked up some St. John's Wort, Melatonin, and Dessert Tree Root. They were having a special. I took a tablet of the FeverFew as soon as I got into the car and in minutes my migraine was gone. I was beside myself. I could not believe that it worked. I even got it at a fraction of the price I was spending on Advil. I decided to try the Melatonin that night since I had been having some problems getting a full nights sleep. I had been warned that it can cause some very strange dreams but dreams or not I wanted to be refreshed in the morning, the kind of refreshment that comes from sleeping soundly for 7-8 hours. My boyfriend works nights and he gets home around 4am, usually I wake up when he comes home but not that morning. I didn't hear a thing and when the alarm sounded at 8am, I was ready to begin my day. I sleep so soundly, I don't remember my dream so I don't know how strange it was. I have yet to try the St. John's Wort but got it to relieve P.M.S. symptoms. People say it works like a charm but I haven't had a need for it yet. I also haven't tried the Dessert Tree Root. The bottle claims it gives you Super Energy. I mostly bought it for my boyfriend who works nights but he is afraid to take it in case he crashes before his night is over. So far I have been very impressed with using Natural Vitamins over Synthetic ones. The outcome was far better than I had anticipated and although I haven't tried a vast variety of them, I imagine that when the time comes for me to buy a remedy for something else I will try something natural over something synthetic. There is quite the controversy over choosing to go natural so as with anything you should consult your physician first and be sure to use them only in the manner prescribed. |
