Everyone collects something. I happen to collect lingerie – bras, panties, teddies, camis and on and on and on. So, it should come as no surprise that I own the complete line of Wonderbra styles.

The Wonder Bra Wonderbra T-Shirt Bra is a relatively new creation from the makers of Wonderbra who are famous for their push up, push out, volume adding qualities. I was a bit leery at first of buying the T-shirt bra as an every day bra. As much as I like to enhance my curves, when I am wearing a clingy T-shirt, I don’t want to look like Pamela Anderson. OK, I do. But people would tend to wonder why I looked like Pam one day and Olive Oyle the next if this bra did what the original WonderBra Push Up Bra does under my casual clothes. Happily, this style works perfectly with my curves and doesn’t give me too much added volume.

My Experience

The Wonderbra T-Shirt Bra is unique in many ways. It is nicely constructed with lots of stretch so you can feel comfortable doing everyday activities and even talking brisk walks and doing other forms of low impact exercise. The cups are made of soft, stretchy foam which add just a little volume and look and feel natural. The bra is a back close one with two rows of hooks. A unique feature of the bra is that you can go from regular straps to racer back straps without having to detach the straps and criss-cross them like most convertible bras. This one simply uses a clip to form an “X” in the back so you can wear this bra with all your tank tops and other tops that are deeply scooped on the arms. I really like this feature because, even though it is so in to have your bra straps show, I don’t like to show mine. I prefer a sleek look and this Wonderbra T-Shirt Bra provides that.

The cups have full coverage (so you don’t have that cup runneth over look in your T-shirts and tanks) and the neckline is a deep plunge so you can wear this bra with any top, not just the high necked T-shirts or tank tops. However, it is not intended to give you a big lift or produce cleavage.

I wear this bra often. It’s comfortable and light and shapes me wonderfully. It looks great under clingy baby T’s or tank tops and there is no show through to worry about. Because the straps and sides stretch, it moves with me and I barely know I have it on. The foam cups aren’t heavy or hard, feel very natural, and mold to my body. This is one of Wonderbra’s best incarnations because they have taken all the good things about the Wonderbra, toned them down for everyday wear, and added features for the active woman.

The underwires are thickly coated with material and don’t poke or dig, which is really important when wearing a bra for long stretches of time or when you need to be active. I don’t have time to be tugging and pulling at my bra when I am out and about and I don’t have to with this one.

The added spandex really helps to make this more than a novelty bra and one you would slip on to run errands, go out with friends, or do whatever you do on a casual basis. It is also fine for formal events due to its seamless cups and great construction. You’ll still get great support, subtle lift and a bit of added volume with T-shirt bra and look completely natural.

I hand wash all my bras and this one has held up wonderfully.

The Wonderbra T-Shirt Bra comes in Frost (white), Soft Taupe (beige), Seaport (light blue), and black. I have one in each color but I tend to wear the soft taupe more under white and very light clothing than the white because it becomes almost invisible under sheer tops.

Sizing

I wear a 36C and these bras are 36C but, as with most of the Wonderbra line, I really could use a half size smaller. The 36B is too small so I stick with the C. For this reason, anyone new to Wonderbra should try one on first. All bras fit differently and, even though they say a certain size on the tag, the best way to get familiar with a line is to try them on. Once you know what size works for you, you can order them online or pick them up in a department store without the hassle of trying them on.

The bra comes in sizes 34B to 38D.

A Note

This bra is not a simple triangle or stretchy cotton one and it is constructed. You may not like that it is a full featured, underwire, foam cupped everyday bra if you are used to wearing very light support ones on your casual days. However, I assure you, once you have this baby on, you won’t think twice about it throughout the day. It works effortlessly to make you look your best without feeling strapped down or pinched and poked.

Bottom Line

Why not look sexy and curvy under your casual tops? This bra does the trick comfortably and, as an aside, it’s very pretty. The added feature of switching to racer back straps is one you will find that you use more than you expected. This is another great bra in a long line of excellent Wonderbras and is one of the best T-shirt bras I have … and as a collector extraordinaire, I have quite a few!

You can buy the Wonderbra T-Shirt Bra for about $21.00 online but, as always, search for those sales and get the best price you can! It is a slightly more expensive bra than a typical T-Shirt bra but the features and quality more than make up for the few dollars extra this bra costs.
