As you probably know, Qool.com is a site where you earn points in various ways, then bid the points in auctions for various prizes. A good system, really. While the site has occasional database errors, it's easy to navigate and usually loads reasonably fast. Earning points is easy and not too time consuming, although they do build up rather slowly.
When I won the first auction with something I wanted, I was ecstatic. Sometime in the next couple months, I would be receiving the new Tom Clancy novel - something I had really wanted to buy, but just didn't have the cash flow at the time.
Unfortunately, it's now a few months later, and I'm still waiting for my book. Emails sent to their customer service department have gone unanswered, and my opinion of their site is now quite poor. I don't know what happened, but their apparent unwillingness to investigate or respond in any way is extremely frustrated.
I know that others have had much better luck with the site, and I cannot fault them for having a more positive opinion of the site, but my personal experience has assigned Qool.com to the junkyard of time wasting, pointless exercises.
UPDATE 9/4/01
Since I wrote this review, I finally did receive a response of sorts from customer service. They did not actually send me an email or apologize for completely failing to send my price, but they did credit the points back to my account. I proceeded to bid a bit more and won a magazine subscription in short order. Four months later, I've given up trying to get my prizes...
