The Playstation 2 console has many different ways it can be positioned on your tv. First off you can use the quick and easy method of just plopping it down on top of a VCR or DVD player because it is almost the same size. Or, you can purchase a nifty vertical/horizontal stand. Horizontal Stand A $10 dollar piece of plastic, huh? This has to be the most useless accessory to date. It simply is a slice of plastic that goes under your Playstation unit. It holds the console up and elevates it about a half inch off the surface. This piece is really not neccesary. Vertical Stand The Playstation licensced stand is just a small piece of plastic that holds the unit verticaly in the center. The plastic is strong and has a blue tint. It enables one to hold their Playstation vertically, and there is no problem with the CD drive either. Playstation made the drive have a slight indent so the CD's won't fall out. The vertical stand will run you around $15. I am not sure why anyone would buy these accessories, maybe to fit the unit into a small spot? I don't know but I wouldn't recommend either because you can stand the console upright or horizontally without these ground breaking pieces of plastic.  |
