I Identified the refurbished Sharp AQUOS LC-32G4U 32'' LCD TV as the HDTV I wanted to buy. I initially placed an order with Refurb Depot, who listed this item as "in stock" when they didn't have it. For three (3) weeks Refurb Depot lied to me and said the TV would ship "soon," "tomorrow," and "next week." Finally I cancelled my order with them and tried DMS.
The lesson I learned from Refurb Depot was, "don't order online via the website, call the establishment and see if the item is in stock first." So, I called DMS on Thursday night, placed my order over the phone, and DMS shipped my TV the next day, Friday, via FED EX. On Monday, I called DMS customer service and got the tracking number.
The TV was delivered to my home on Tuesday. I thought this was excellent service. This was the first time I had bought a "refurbished" product and here are my thoughts and observations early on:
**Sharp only offered a 30 day parts and labor warranty on the set as opposed to a one year warranty.
**The cost of the refurbished set with a three (3) MAC Camera warranty and shipping was less than what I would have paid for the set new and in the store by about $150.00 or so.
**It looks like somehow the set was bumped in transit somewhere, b/c the left speaker has a small dent in it. I think this may be the reason the set was sold as 'refurbished.'
**DMS does not accept returns on its LCD TVs. Once the set is shipped an you sign for it, the TV is yours. Any problems and you have to go through the Manufacturer. (I have not had any problems thus far.)
**Overall DMS delivered on its promises to me, and my HDTV arrived five (5) days after I ordered it.
**My advice, call and see if an item is in stock b/f you order it.
