| Knies1194's Full Review: Balance 14.1'' Notebook Computer With Wireless Net... |
If you expect a high quality product and customer service from the manufacturer, look elsewhere.
Do you ever hear the expression, you get what you pay for? Well in my case it was true. I did not have this computer 3 months yet. Apparently, I have more strength in my hands than I thought...or do I, because I put my hands on the monitor and it was a little too hard. The monitor cracked. I have a very bad grip in my hands and very little strength so I was completely in shock. Yes this was my first laptop. I had no idea that monitors were that sensitive. However I have been told by a few sales people it should not have cracked that easy. Ok, well it did.
I expected to have to pay something for the repair, as I know I was partially responsible. I did not read the instructions before operating it. So yes I was partially at fault and I admit it. However, I shocked to learn this company was charging over 300.00 to fix. This thing cost me 598.00 before shipping, good grief! This company refused to meet me halfway, and would not bend at all. I guess I expected they would charge me half but make me buy a service plan or something to that effect. But nope, they wanted their money and it would take NO time to ship it out after they got the money, of course. So I am waiting to get the computer back.
It's a basic computer with wireless B capabilities. I can take it out in the living room and get on line with no wires. I had to go out and buy a Wireless B router and hook that to my cable modem box and voila, the notebook detects the internet with the built in card. The only thing I do not like about this computer besides the fact that it is cheaply made is that I have not been able to encrypt the wireless card that is installed on there. I also wish that the computer has CD-R capabilities but that's not a big issue for me. It plays DVDs which is an awesome feature. I don't need to buy a DVD system for my van...woohoo.
