The Bottom Line Internet plays a major part in your music distribution.

So you have some music but nobody listens to it? Do you want more people to know about your music? Well, I have learned that many parts played in doing this are in the Internet section. Here are some ways to advertise and distribute over the Internet.

Why Internet

Internet is the best thing since television. That means a lot more people are wired and one of the best ways are to advertise and distribute over the Internet. There are several ways to do this including huge advertising to managing a web site. More people are going to check out web pages then channel surf and shop.

Managing A Web Site

This is pretty tough but well worth it. I have experienced creating a web site for an organization and I have found out that the best way to advertise. First you want to get one of the best web site builders such as Macromedia DreamWeaver. Second you want to register a domain name. If you are having trouble choosing a domain name then try this.

Band - The Dudes

www.thedudesonline.com
www.thedudesonline.net

If you are still having trouble trying a ".org" site or trying another ending extension that you can get through many companies. Domain names are very important because if you use a free site builder then people are going to think that you don't have enough money for a real domain name. Also make sure you have lots of graphics and information such as plenty of links and a way to buy your CD online.

Advertising Through Internet

There are tons of ways to advertise through internet and I think one of the best are banners. First you want to make a banner with as much frames and graphics as possible to create attention. Next submit your banner to banner exchanges or web sites. This may cost some money but it works. Some things not to do are advertise by pop-ups or buttons because pop-ups tick people off and they are going to close it as fast as possible not caring what it says. The buttons are a bad idea because the size is pretty small and I think you want something bigger. You can also promote your site and music through web rings which is really good. Just type in web rings is a popular search engine and it should get you going.

Music Sharing

If you decide you want to music share then that is what I would recommend. First you should get all your songs in Mp3 format and then distribute full songs or just samples. If you do sell your music on a CD then you will find your music on the Internet for download and that is something you have to live with. If you like that then that would be a plus for you. Music sharing helps distribute your music around without people having to buy your CD with not knowing what they are going to get.

The Bottom Line

The Internet plays a huge part in promoting your music and it is a must if you want to get your music around. Good luck if you decide to start your music!
