Pros: Great actors/actresses all around. Preceded by a great movie, The Bourne Identity.
Cons: choppy editing, shaky filming, short plot - good movie made hard to watch by filmmakers.
The Bottom Line: If they make a third Jason Bourne movie, the you should see The Bourne Supremacy once. Otherwise, you're fine just watching The Bourne Identity over and over again.

| Caspian's Full Review: The Bourne Supremacy (2004) |
This movie is a sequel to The Bourne Identity. To fully appreciate The Bourne Supremacy, you must watch the original first.
The Bourne Identity is an excellent movie. Jason Bourne(played by Matt Damon) is a "malfunctioning multi-million dollar human weapon". Bourne suffers amnesia --- he can't remember who he is or any events of his past, yet he has incredible knowledge of languages and fighting skills. He intuitively knows to watch his back, and soon finds out he is being hunted down. He hooks up with a girl who helps him out, and the rest of the movie is action-packed, with Bourne and the girl trying to stay a step ahead of whoever is chasing them, while at the same time trying to figure out who Jason Bourne really is, who wants him dead so badly, and why.
The Bourne Supremacy picks up 3 years later in the life of Bourne and Marie (the girl in the first movie). Somehow the Agency gets wind of Jason again, and starts a fresh chase.
My opinion of this movie is mixed, but leans heavily toward the negative. The plot had great potential. The CIA team, led by Pamela Landy (Joan Allenis right in the middle of orchestrating some kind of information-buying scheme when the two CIA agents inside suddenly wind up dead, and the whole operation is blown. Someone has meticulously framed Jason Bourne for the whole mess, and Pamela Landy suddenly is finding out all about Jason Bourne and Treadstone, the secret CIA project that trained him. Bourne, who still can't remember much about his past, is on the run again -- it appears some Russian guy is after him because of an assassination mission that Bourne performed in his forgotten past. But the CIA is after him too, and he's not sure why, so he's out to find out. This time, he's a little more savvy, and actually plays some "you're trying to catch me, but I'm actually watching you" games with the CIA, and it's kind of funny.
Unfortunately, the director, the cameraman, and the editors pretty much ruin the movie.
The cameraman can't hold still. Someone should have said, "Cut! camera guy needs to go potty!"
The film editors for some reason couldn't let more than half a second of continuous filming run before changing camera/angle/scene.
We also find out way too soon who the "bad guy" is within the CIA, the girl gets killed right at the beginning, so Bourne is left to his own thoughts (which we can't read)
and the ending, though pretty cool, and also no more than a few seconds long, basically says "There's going to be a third movie in this series." I almost expected the director to pop up, chortle and say "Heh heh heh, we only made this movie to make some extra money off you while you wait for the third movie, and so we can call it a Trilogy!"
