Here are some punk bands that I like. It's pretty straight forward.

means " the dead pants (trousers)" and "hier kommt Alex" means ""here comes Alex". It´s German. I´m Swedish. I love The Clash, The Dead Kennedys, Ramones among others, but also the most famous punk group in Sweden, Asta Kask. But my votes won´t count, one of the members is my brother...Still, they are super!

Uneven, but not bad (Reply to this comment)

I think some of these bands are excellent. However, I do think that they are not all punk bands. Bands like Fenix TX and New Found Glory may be inspired by punk, and sound like punk, but they just are not punk bands. This has nothing to do with popularity or my opinion of them, in fact I don't mind either band, but they just aren't punk, like so many so called punk bands today. oh well, labels, whatever. Oh, and one editorial note, "I Want it that Way" was covered by Allister, not New Found Glory. I appreciate your choices, keep up the good taste.

Well, by the more "punk" statements I made, I was referring to all the idiot fanboys who don't like Offspring because they aren't as punk as blink 182 (yeah, you heard me right). Thanks for the suggestions and I will be checking out the Dickies. As for a record player, I have several lying around my house, but none of them have any speakers... I should get around to that.

A good list but (Reply to this comment)

It is clear to me that you don't have a record player. A record player and records (ya’ know vinyl) are essential to building a good punk rawk collection. Most of what you’ve listed is pretty “poppy” punk music put out by major record labels or large indies (Fat Wreck). One thing that would make this kind of music “more punk” is if you owned some of these band’s early records. A Green Day demo from ’87 on brown wax is punk. “Dookie” on CD bought at kMart is not. There’s nothing wrong with pop-punk, but when you through in big $$, good production values and the corporate “push” that gets you on TV and in the teenybopper mags, all of the “punk” has been strained out and you’re left with nothing but “pop”.

p.s. Judging from your list I think you might really dig The Dickies. They are a really funny band that’s been around since the ‘70’s. They do hilarious cover songs: “Knights in White Satin” “Paraniod” “The Sounds of Silence” and “The Banana Splits Theme” are the best.
