HERE SPOTTY! COME ON SPOTTY! WHERE DID SPOTTY GO!

Written: Feb 22 '05 (Updated Feb 22 '05)
Pros:liquid is fantastic
Cons:solid leaves a few spots but not many
The Bottom Line: While this product is fantastic and sure fix for spotty dishes, I'd stick with the liquid. It's fantastic.

I don’ t know about you but I really don’t like spots on my dishes. For some reason, IMO, they seem to make the dishes look … well, not as clean as they should be.

Years ago, when DISHWASHERS first arrived in our homes, we were awed by the convenience and just wiped the spots out of our glasses and off our plates. We never even dreamed of putting pots in these wonderful machines – it just wasn’t done.

Then, along with much improved DISHWASHING DETERGENTS Cascade / Electrasol 2 in 1 / Electrasol Gelpacs), along came a product that claimed to eliminate those ugly water spots.

The RECKITT BENCKISER Company created a product I found lives up to that claim. They invented JET-DRYŽ.

JET-DRY is designed to work in your rinse cycle. It mixes lightly with the rinse water to soften it and therefore eliminating those nasty water spots. The dishes (whether glasses, plates, flatware, pots OR plastic-ware) come out sparkling clean. Yes, that’s right – even pots and my beautiful TERVIS TUMBLERS!

Keep in mind, this is a RINSE agent, not a detergent. This won’t clean your dishes but it will make your clean dishes spotless.

Reckitt Benckiser makes JET-DRYŽ in THREE LIQUID and TWO SOLID forms. Why two? Some older dishwashers don’t have those cute little dispenser cups.

The LIQUID varieties are:
JET-DRYŽ with Baking Soda
JET-DRYŽ with Citrus Vinegar
JET-DRYŽ with Orange scent

The SOLID varieties are:
JET-DRYŽ Unscented
JET-DRYŽ with Lemon

I’d been using the liquid JET-DRY for years and found that one small bottle of liquid will last about 6 - 8 weeks depending on how many times you use your dishwasher. Since I usually use mine only once a day, that’s how long this awesome liquid stretches to get my dishes cleaner than clean.

When JET-DRY first hit the stores, only the solid was available and naturally, I had to try it. When I put my pots in the dishwasher, I place them in upside down (naturally) so the water jets can spray inside the pot without filling it. Using the solid JET-DRY, I found it left spots on the bottoms of the pots.

Once the Liquid JET-DRY went on sale, I tried that to see if there was a difference and I was amazed! Everything comes a whole lot cleaner and much less spotty – in fact, I haven’t found any spots, anywhere! Even the bottoms of those pots aren’t spotted.

While the normal precautions should be followed (do not rub in eyes or swallow), but keeping that in mind, this product is really safe to use.

*Should you manage to get JET-DRY in your eyes, just rinse with cool water for about 15-minutes.
*In case of ingestion, drink plenty of cold water (should any symptoms appear, call Poison Control immediately).
*While there are no hazardous fumes, some people are scent sensitive. If the scent does bother you, take a walk in the fresh air and you’ll be fine in minutes.
*Although JET-DRY contains no harsh chemicals, some people do have very sensitive skin so to be on the safe side, wash your hands immediately after using it.

This is definitely a product you will always find in my kitchen!
