I go through spells where Im really good about cutting out and using coupons. Unfortunately, I also go through spells where Im not quite as good about it.
Today when I pulled out my second package of Windex Glass & Surface Wipes I was grateful that I had used a coupon and gotten two packages for the price of one.
The Wipes
The wipes come in a blue re-sealable flat package that holds 25 wipes. I paid, I believe, $2.97 and got a second package free with my coupon so it was really a great deal.
While these moist wipes arent huge, they seem to be large enough to wipe several different glass surfaces without a problem. Each package contains 25 wipes that measure 7 X 10. They are similar to a baby wipe in thickness and are sturdy enough to clean most surfaces.
The website says that the scent is floral ammonia-like. Hmm, not sure that sounds like a good smell to me and while they do have an unusual smell, I don't mind it. I do make sure to wash my hands after using these wipes so that the smell doesn't linger on my hands.
These wipes are made of Water, Isopropanol and Inert Ingredients and Ammonium Hydroxide.
My Feelings
I was glad that had gotten two packages of these wipes, because as I went to get the last 5 or 6 I noticed that they were too dry to clean glass with. Im not sure if I didnt close the package tight enough or if this is a problem with these wipes, but Im going to be very cautious with my second package and see what happens.
I am very pleased with how this product works. The main reason I wanted to purchase them is because I have a full length mirror in my playroom for my daycare children to admire themselves in. Well of course when children 1 ˝ to 4 years old get in front of a mirror, they dont always keep their hands off of it. I was pulling out my spray Windex and a paper towel all of the time and wanted a quicker easier way to do quick clean ups. These wipes are perfect for that. I am also more comfortable using a wipe than a spray bottle when the children are here. I simply take one wipe out of package that I keep in an upper kitchen cabinet and wipe the mirror clean. Very easy and I dont see streaks nor is there a high amount of lint left over.
This morning I took a wipe and cleaned my medicine cabinet mirror, my monitor, the full length mirror, two 27 television sets and then wiped down the chrome on my kitchen sink and oven. Not bad for one wipe.
One of the cautions that I just read on the package is to unplug electrical appliances when using. While I dont think that is very practical for most things, I will be sure to at least turn off the TV next time as I did get a slight shock as I was wiping the screen clean. Of course, right now with how dry everything is, Im getting tiny shocks from everything I touch, so it may have just been that.
I do like these wipes very much and will purchase more when I use up this package. They are convenient, inexpensive and just very handy to have around.
The Warnings**
Windex Glass & Surface Wipes come with a few warnings.
They do recommend flushing your eyes if you get this product in the eyes but there are no known medical health hazards connected with these wipes.
Keep out of reach of pets and children
but I think that goes without saying for any cleaning product. I think that because these do look so much like a baby wipe, being sure they are out of childrens reach would be especially important.
Do not use for personal hygiene or as a baby wipe.
Dont use these wipes on wood, food cooking utensils, plates, glasses, tinted automotive glass or upholstery.
Do not use with other household cleaners.
Do not dispose of in the toilet, discard in trash only.
