The Bottom Line Read Above/Below??
On January 29, 2000, Eddie Ray joined the Epinions.com website in an attempt to make some money. At the time I was trying a lot of get paid to surf web site such as Advantage, Getpaid4, Cashsurfers, Desktop Dollars, ePipo, Valuepay and many others that I cannot even rememeber. All of these sites basically turned out bad not making enough money to stay alive. The only site I really ever truly liked out of them all was AllAdvantage because in all honesty it was the only site that actually did everything it said it would. I probably made about $200 bucks with the website after about a month. Don't get me wrong this wasn't bad - but just wasn't ENOUGH. I was looking for something where I could make a little more. All of the other sites were not reliable whatsoever and I never even received one check from any other get paid to surf website. Then about a month after I had joined AllAdvantage a friend told me about a website called Epinions.com. He said they would pay $.30 cents for every time someone would read your opinion on a product/topic. All you had to do was write 100 words. I really didn't understand the whole concept but I joined anyway. The crashing of The Bonus Eroyalties And then the day I joined the web site the Bonus Eroyalties were no more. Now they had cut the Eroyalties down to .03 cents a hit for MOST reviews posted on the site. Many people left this site after this day. My first few opinions really were not very good but the change started to add up and finally turned into dollars. These dollars convinced me that maybe epinions really was worth my time and effort and that I should see what I'm looking at in about a month and a half. The money really was adding up and I was kinda hooked on the site as many people were and still are today. Anyway the site went on and on and soon I found myself writing a few opinions a week and putting people on my trust list, and rating about twenty-five opinions everyday from the just in section. Time went on and epinions.com became worse and worse. While there were less glitches in the site as the site went on - the heart and sole of the web site really went down. Day by day epinions would lose valuable members who just flat out got sick of the site and everything about it. There would be stupid writers that would try to get a reputation of being bad or "ALMOST" crossing the line. And just doing things to flat out make people mad. And epinions even formed a neighborhood watch group led by members like ptiemann and shauncool to help stop all the so called abusers on the web site. People were turning this site into a daily soap opera, and as it progressed it got out of control and just made you wanna laugh while watching people argue and argue trying to build a reputation over a stupid website. People would even do so much as to create their own epinions topic chat room in the yahoo chats. People would submit messages day after day and continually would just fight and fight. These kind of things just have to make you laugh. The Experts The Experts (now known as Advisors) were formed as a way of basically just showing who could write the best opinions on a certain topic. If epinions.com thought you were good enough to be an expert well that pretty much meant you would be getting a lot more member hits - meaning more cash! And you would not believe how out of control people would get if they couldn't be an EXPERT! People would write opinions time after time about it and beg to become in this elite group. I never got to caught up into being an expert or advisor because I really didn't care. People in these groups would form lots of groups and if you got one mad you would get the whole group after you. And it was actually funny. For example members like Almighty and i_culookn would spend hours and hours rating opinions without even reading them, just to try and get the members to return the favor and rate theirs. This is a way that they got a lot of member hits and people on their trust list. It seems to me that these people clearly have too much time on their hands and making .08 cents an hour is really worth all that bordom. The Income Share Eroyalties The income share eroyalties were formed not too long ago and the purpose of them was to give the people who worked hard and wrote good opinions a little extra money at the end of the month. This caused a lot of havic within the site. People would get mad because they felt they didn't get enough as so and so, and would just become aggravated over something such as this. These people are another classic example of someone having way too much time on their hands. My Departure "My Departures," are due too many things. Mostly because I am just sick of the people on epinions.com or that it is JUST NOT WORTH THE TIME! I really can't tell you myself. I have enjoyed my stay at epinions but there are too many retards that come here and ruin a pretty good site where you get paid to do what you love. I will now submit every once in a while but find it impossible to commit myself like I once did. Eddie |
