Now we all know, and I'm sure you'll all agree with me when I say, cleaning the bathroom isn't one of the most favorite places to clean, but we know that it has to be done. Another cleaning chore that I don't enjoy either is cleaning out my oven.
Anyway I like to try different types of bathroom cleaners, and when I find one that I like I will stick to it for a while. Of course I'm always open to trying out any new cleaners, that are available. While I was out shopping last week in the supermarket, I came across this Comet Bathroom Orange Brite Bathroom cleaner for $3.49. Why it caught my eye was on the edge of the shelve where the cleaner was, there was a sticker that said NEW in bright letters. Then I noticed on the bottle it also said New. I've used Comet Powder Cleanser before, and liked it very much, so I decided to give this Comet Brite Orange Bathroom Cleaner a try. Being it said Orange Brite on the label I figured it would have that nice orange fragrance to it.
A few days later I decided to try it out in my bathroom. We were expecting some friends from out of town that evening that we hadn't seen in 3 years. With company coming I wanted to make sure that my bathroom was sparkling clean.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
The first thing I did was, I lifted the lift flap on the nozzle and bent it back. There is a small white arrow on top of the nozzle and this is where the lift up flap should be snapped into, which I did. Now it was ready to spray.
The cleaning solution came out in a white foamy spray solution, as I first started to spray my bathtub. I first noticed that the cleaner seemed to have a very slight orange fragrance to it. But after I began to spray the whole tub and my ceramic tile, the fragrance took on a real strong smell. The smell still had a fragrance of orange, but it also had a more of a pungent orange odor to it. After I finally rinsed off my tile and bathtub I had to open my bathroom window to air it out for 10 minutes, before I could even start to clean my bathroom sink and toilet.
I also cleaned my toilet by spraying the cleaner on a wet paper towel, and wiped my toilet all down. Then I went over the whole toilet again with just a wet paper towel to remove the cleaning solution off.
My husband said that he could smell the fragrance way out in our living room. He said that it wasn't a particularly bad smell, just a very strong smell. Anyway it took me a half and hour to finish cleaning the bathroom, where it usually only takes me 10 -15 minutes to get my whole bathroom clean. If I didn't have to wait for the smell to clear out each time I used the Comet cleaner, it wouldn't have taken me so long to clean. But even with having to wait for the bathroom to air out a little each time, I was very happy with the results.
In between having to air out the bathroom several times I even sprayed my plastic dark green shower liner with it. Now I don't clean my shower liner every time I clean the bathtub, and it had accumulated quite a bit of soap scum on it. So I sprayed the liner well and shut the bathroom door while the room aired out some more. When I finally went back in I was surprised at how much soap scum had disappeared from my liner. I finally rinsed the liner off with my squirt water bottle and then rinsed out my bathtub again.
Now I have tried the Comet Cleaner on my stainless steel kitchen sink and it did clean the sink nicely. My double sinks are deep and I found by using the spray it was quite messy, and some of the solution did manage to spray on my brick just above my sink. I think I will just stick to my Stainless Steel wipes for that cleaning job.
Above my bathroom sink there is a large mirror, and under the mirror there is a cabinet. This cabinet has 2 white plastic sliding doors and this is where we keep our tooth brushes, toothpaste, hair brushes etc. Being these sliding doors are white and plastic they usually get soap scum stains on them just from general washings in the sink, and even some toothpaste spatters stains also. After I sprayed with one or two sprays of the Comet Cleaner on the doors, I waited a minute and then took a wet paper towel and wiped the solution off. It cleaned the plastic doors quite nicely and did seem to brighten up the white on the sliding doors some.
HOW WELL IT CLEANED:
I have to say that the Comet Orange Brite Bathroom Cleaner did do an excellent job on cleaning my bathroom surfaces. I didn't have to scrub the tub, tiles, toilet or the bathroom sink while cleaning. I only had to rinse these surfaces off. The Comet Cleaner did a great job on removing soap scum film on contact.
CAUTIONS FROM THE LABEL:
Can cause eye irritation and can be harmful if swallowed.
Do not mix with bleach or other mildew stain removers as irritating fumes may result.
FIRST AID FOR THE EYES:
If any of the cleaning solution does accidentally get sprayed in the eyes, hold the eye open and rinse slowly with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing out the eyes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
FIRST AID IF SWALLOWED:
Drink 1-2 glasses of water and call a Doctor or poison control center (product contains an alcohol ethoxylate). Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or a Doctor. Have the product label or container with you when calling the doctor or going for treatment.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:
Keep out of the reach of children, and keep the Comet Bathroom Cleaner stored in a cool place. When the bottle is empty, rinse it out thoroughly and discard the empty bottle in the trash.
I was quite satisfied on how well this Comet Bathroom Orange Brite cleaner removed dirt, grime and soap scum from my bathroom. Although I would suggest that you keep good ventilation in the room while using it. The smell can get very strong the more you spray it. After an hour or so after I had finished cleaning the bathroom, I noticed that each time I went into the bathroom, the room did smell clean. The strong pungent smell had diminished and the room took on a very slight smell of orange, which was a clean, fresh and very nice smell.
MY FINAL THOUGHT:
At first I didn't think this Comet Orange Brite Bathroom Cleaner would be my first choice in a bathroom cleaning product. Even though the solution was a little strong smelling while cleaning my bathroom, the end result changed my mind. That night my company finally arrived, and I was glad to have my bathroom looking all shiny, nice smelling and clean. As long as you use adequate ventilation while cleaning, this Comet Orange Brite Bathroom Cleaner will give you good results on cleaning tough stains on contact with no scrubbing at all. I do recommend it.
