Yes. A heartbreaker, though.

By The Way... (Reply to this comment)

I've been wanting to watch Yossi & Jagge for months now! But I have no idea where to watch it... Is it that good of a movie?

I could never make a list like this... movies are just... TOO HARD to chose from.
And for handing over my own two sense, I HATED Gods And Monsters. I was actually quite bored of it... but I looooove But I'm A Cheerleader. It's hilarious!

Update 2004 (Reply to this comment)
by Stephen_Murray, in Movies
I've now seen the fantasy "Beautiful Thing," but would not add it. I'd be tempted to add "Plata Quemada" (Burnt Money) and "The Business of Fancydancing," and would supercede "Making Love" and "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" with "The Adventures of Felix" and "Yossi & Jagge."
"Maurice" has been released on DVD and seems to be more highly regarded now than it was when it was released theatrically or when I compiled this list.

It's a charming little movie. I agree with the one person who reviewed it here on -Epinions- about its story-structure problems, but it was Rozuma's first film.

What do you think of I'VE HEARD THE MERMAIDS SINGING, her debut film, if you've seen it?

Lots to mull over here... (Reply to this comment)

..which is why I like lists.
Glad you included "Personal Best"..ahead of its time for a mainstream contemporary American movie, and usually overlooked.
Nice post.

Re: The+only+title (Reply to this comment)

There's a very good reason (for not including Real Thing): I haven't seen it.
I thought Mitchell Lichtenstein was great in "Streamers." I'm sure he has now inherited lots of money, but it is too bad he doesn't make more movies.

The only title (Reply to this comment)
by MrsNormanMaine
I can think of that you missed that I'd argue belongs somewhere is 'Beautiful Thing'. The movie is a bit stagey but the leads are wonderful.
I think 'The Wedding Banquet' remains my favorite. Why doesn't Mitchell Lichtenstein work more? The only other film I can recall seeing him in is Robert Altman's 'Streamers'.
