Don't believe their "low" prices

I never thought I'd fall into a scam like this, but I did....and it won't happen again.
I was lured in by the low price of a digital camera I've had my eye on...when I saw a great price I jumped on it. Gave my credit card number and everything without giving it a second thought. My first clue should have been when I got the message "Call this number to confirm your order". But still, I thought maybe they get online buyers who change their minds after the product had been shipped, and that they wanted to "weed out" those purchases. Nope. When I called to confirm the order, they tried to sell me an extra battery and memory cards for the camera......and that's okay, I realize they make their living selling products...but I quickly got my second clue that this was a ripoff. I asked them how much for the battery....one I can get on Ebay for $15.00 ...including shipping mind you.....the very persistant salesperson quoted me a price of $149.00! He then cut the price and when I still said no, he then tried to sell me memory, to which I said no thanks....he then seemed to be upset and told me "Thank you for your order, I need to give you a new order number". He gave me the new number and hung up rather abruptly. When I called back to check on the item, I was told it was backordered for 3 weeks. When a friend warned me about this seller, I called back again and was told my order had been cancelled.....Needless to say, I called American Express and warned them about this company....I just hope this is the last of them I will ever have to deal with. One other thing.....they have a lot of "glowing" reviews on this and other sites.....I tend to believe that these people were either duped into buying outrageously overpriced accessories, or they are forged....I tend to believe the latter.
