Almost every evening after dinner I sit down with my two older kids and play games. Its a good time that keeps us all involved in each others lives instead of retreating off to the various rooms for us to watch whatever television programs are on. When I recently played the game Sequence at a church function, I knew I had to have this game for our game time. The only problem was that I wanted the set with the large mat like theyd had when I played and I knew I would have a hard time finding that in our local stores.
Searching the internet, I stumbled across AreYouGame.com. The site immediately capture my interest for the variety of game-related products it carries. The site is laid out quite nicely and is easy to browse through or find something specific. The main division of products is into Games, Puzzles, and Other Fun Stuff. I can also browse by age level, specific interests, look at what deals and steals they currently have going on, or what are currently best-sellers. Doing this has given me a lot of terrific ideas for new games. Their selection includes just about every board, trivia, party, electronic, skill, strategy, dice, and card game I could ever dream of.
One of the highlights of the site, though, is the Game Attic which has a huge selection of pre-owned games that many of us shoppers remember from our childhood. Some of them are in mint condition, never opened, and others have been used. This lists the game title, the manufacturer and year it was distributed, status, condition, and price. Its taking a chance on finding something you remember, as not everything is listed here but there are some neat finds available.
Their listings of each game are comprehensive, so I found it easy to see if what I had clicked on was exactly what I was looking for. The listing will also offer other ideas for similar games you might like, whether it be an additional board game or a card game in a similar vein.
I found the exact version of the Sequence game I wanted, and in addition quickly found the childrens version of the game which had been recommended to me for my 4 year-old son. AreYouGame.com accepts all major credit cards as well as allowing me to order by mail or fax. Shipping and handling charges can be a bit confusing when figuring it out on my own.
Shipping and Handling:
Standard Shipping (3-6 Business Days)
Per Shipment : $3.99 + $0.99 per lb.
Premium Shipping (2-3 Business Days)*
Per Shipment $7.99 + $1.99 per lb.
Express Shipping (1-2 Business Days)*
Per Shipment $16.99 + $3.99 per lb.
I just enter my credit card and let them figure out the shipping charges. Since the game I was getting was oversized and in a tubular container, I felt that what they charged me for shipping was quite reasonable. The weights are listed right with the product listing, so if I wanted to spend the time figuring it all out beforehand or for a mail/fax order, I could.
Sales tax is only charged to shipments to Tennessee or California. My order was placed and I was promised a confirmation with tracking number within 24 hours. When that didnt happen, I emailed customer service and received a fast response that theyd had some trouble with their system but were on top of it. I did receive the information about a day late and am pleased - problems do happen and as long as I dont feel jerked around I dont have an issue with it.
My items arrived in great condition and I was quite happy with my experience at AreYouGame.com. I will have no problems using them in the future when I want to add more games to our selection. Its much easier to visit this site than to travel from store to store looking for something specific. They have a huge selection offering and if youre having a hard time finding something, I would highly recommend looking here.
