I have been in the market for some kind of virus protection program, and just couldn't get into Norton Antivirus or McAfee. Both programs are just too big and bulky and have overdone interfaces. You'd almost think they are trying to outdo each other with each new version.

I was referred to this FREE virus protection utility called inoculateIT and immediately realized it's potential. I was already familiar with their full-blown antivirus suite, which can be found running on quite a few servers around the globe. In the two previous companies I have worked for, both were using inoculateIT on their servers.

The total download for this software is less than 2 megs, which is great when compared to 15+ megs for Norton and McAffee. I got the latest version then updated the virus definitions with about about a 200k download. All fast and easy.

InoculateIT has a nice, clean interface without a bunch of annoying sounds or animations. It does the job without the fluff, and does not try to be the iMac of virus scanners, like McAfee. It features all the same options as the other guys, such as Scan On Startup, etc.

Since installing, inoculateIT sits quietly in my traybar and hasn't caused me any problems yet. It's quick and easy and free. I'm a new customer and won't go back to the bulk of Norton and McAffee ever again.
