I ordered a television online from ephotoclub.com. A few days after ordering it, they called ostensibly to get the verification number off my credit card, but really to sell me connections that I "needed" to hook up the TV. Then they called again a few days later stating that the company they contracted with did not ship to my address, and they would charge me $100 for shipping, when the receipt I printed from the order stated "free next-day shipping." Levi told me that his company was not responsible for any "typos" concerning shipping on the website and he was not going to "lose money" on this deal. He also could not tell me where exactly the delivery service DID ship to. I called back the next day and spoke to Pete (the boss, supposedly) and he assured me that I would not be charged for shipping and that I would receive my TV in two weeks time. Nearing the end of the two weeks, I called the company to inquire about my order. The first person I talked to said that the TV was on backorder. The second person told me that I had cancelled my order -- which I never did -- and tried to convince me that I just didn't remember cancelling it. The third person told me that the TV I bought was a European version (not mentioned in ANY of the previous calls), and it would be an extra $100 for the American version. I said that was ridiculous and to cancel my order. When I told him that I was going to report them to the BBB and online search engines/customer review sites, he said that I must be a boring person and have a lot of time on my hands. I replied that I work full time and go to school and have hobbies. He then said, "I see here that you live in Kalamazoo, MI. What hobbies could you possibly have in Michigan?" I said if anything further happened I would contact my lawyer and to not call my house again. I hung up and immediately received a call. The person at the other end told me "Don't ever call this company again, b****."
