Pros: inexpensive; good quality imaging
Cons: slow; has to be on when first turning on PC
The Bottom Line: For the small amount of money and the quality images it produces, there is none better!

| eskualdun's Full Review: Agfa SnapScan 1212p Flatbed Scanner |
We really didn't need a scanner- kind of just wanted one. You know: had to have another toy to play with on the computer.
We found this one at Costco for $65. We figured we'd give it a whirl.
Installing the software was easy, but we couldn't get the program to recognize that the scanner was plugged into the PC and was, in fact, powered on.
After deciding all was in order, we decided to reboot the computer. (Turns out this is what the installation instructions tell you- first the scanner, then the computer... who would have known?!?)
VOILA! Now the computer knew the scanner existed.
We test-drove it on various media. It does great work, but it is, in fact, slow. The quality of the images it produces more that makes up for the slowness.
And, you have to remember: for $65, you can't have everything!!
We decided it is acceptable for us; we just can't be in too big of a hurry when we go to scan anything.
The software was simple to install and is straight-forward and easy to use.
