When we had our first child, we got tons of gifts including enough clothes to last her for a full year. By the time my third child was born, we got a couple of cards and she got a lot of hand me down clothes. Now I find that I have to buy a lot of baby clothes for her to fill in the gaps in her hand me down wardrobe. Recently, I was searching the Internet for sales and came across this site.
MERCHANDISE
There are clothes for babies, kids and men and women. There are also some toys and books. However, the selection is rather thin. If they were to put all of their offerings in a store, I think the store would seem rather empty. However, there was enough for babies that I found a few outfits that I liked on sale. The best part is that the items I wanted were all in season and I even picked up a bathing suit on sale for the summer.
I also have to say that the quality of the clothes was quite good, especially for the sale prices that I paid. I was very happy with everything I got.
SHOPPING AND WEB SITE PERFORMANCE
Finding items was actually a little tricky. There was a teeny menu up top that you could click on for sub categories under each gender and age grouping. So, if you wanted shirts for a girl baby, it took about three clicks to get what you wanted. However, if you just wanted to see all of the offerings for a girl baby, there was no easy way to do so. Also, this brand offers lots of matching sets and it was sometimes difficult to figure out which item matched which item among all the pink clothes for little girls. It would have been easier to shop by collection, similar to the way Gymboree organizes its site.
ORDERING
The ordering process was also a little confused. Once I started the check out process, I had to either log in with a password or choose a new password and establish an account. I really hate the whole password thing. I shop a lot on the internet and only have the capacity to remember 3 passwords at a time which means I immediately forget all passwords I use on shopping sites.
The other thing I encountered was some type of glitch. After entering all my information, it brought me to a screen that, I suppose, was supposed to confirm my information. Everything was entered correctly but I kept getting error messages. I eventually backed up and started again at the shopping cart. After going through the process again, it all worked fine.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I got an email when they received my order and an email when my order shipped.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING
Here is the good news. They charge $4 for ground shipping. This is a flat fee no matter how much you order. However, you can pay more for faster shipping.
It looks like my items left the warehouse the day after I placed my order. I got my items five days after placing my order which is fast for ground shipping.
The packaging was great. Each baby outfit came on a hanger. The clothes were secured in a plastic bag inside a hard cardboard box that could have easily been used for a return, if that was necessary.
RETURNS
I did not make a return but did notice that many items on the site are final sale only. If you are not sure of sizing or sure you want an item, make sure you pick items that can be returned.
STEALS AND DEALS
When I shopped on the site, they were having a sale of up to 40% off baby clothes, however most items were closer to 20% off.
You can sign up for emails from the site to notify you of sales and special offers. I signed up for the emails recently but haven't received any that gave me any special deals.
I shopped through Ebates to get an extra 6% rebate.
FINAL RECOMMENDATION
I thought shopping at Osh Kosh was a pretty good experience. The web site could use some improvement but I liked the merchandise I got for the price I paid. I would recommend this store.
