Pros: Improved on regular Tide. Great smell.
Cons: It didn't get all the stains out.
The Bottom Line: It will save me a little money on my electric bill. The washing smells great, and does look whiter.

| Susie-34668's Full Review: Tide Coldwater |
Isn't it nice when a free sample arrives in the mail? This happened a couple of weeks ago. I opened up a package and there was a one-load sample of Tide Coldwater detergent. I then remembered filling in a form for the Tide Coldwater Challenge.
Next I had to decide which challenge to do first. The white wash came out on top. Living in Florida, Len wears light beige shorts all the time, and the pocket area gets stained real quickly. I have tried most detergents and the regular tide always came out on top, but never got every stain out.
I loaded the white wash and added my sample package of Tide Coldwater with the Fresh scent fragrance. I used the largest load setting so the clothes had plenty of room to move around and be cleaned.
When I opened the washing machine up I first noticed the fresh scent smell. This was very pleasant and not too overpowering. Then I lifted out the clothes. These ranged from Len's underwear, socks, my socks, tee shirts, and his shorts. The tee shirts were a brighter white, which made the writing or design on them show up more. The underwear and socks again looked good. The shorts were disappointing. There were still marks around the pockets. These were not as bad as before washing, but not what I was expecting from this new product.
It states on the packet that it is designed for cold water washing for both your white and coloured clothes, and yes Proctor & Gamble did spell coloured the English way. They also gave details in French and Spanish. However, you can use warm or hot water with your wash. I really can't see any point in purchasing a cold wash product, and then using a different water temperature.
It comes in 2 fragrances, Glacier and Fresh Scent. My sample was in the liquid form. This can be purchased in 80, 100, 150, 200, and 300 oz. sizes. After using this sample I purchased the 80 oz. size so that I could try out my colored and delicate washes. The Glacier liquid comes in 4 sizes. Both come in the powder form too, and again there are more sizes in the Fresh scent, 22, 31, 69, and 95 uses.
My likes.
I can use cold water instead of hot or warm for my whites. Over the course of the year this will make a difference in my electricity bills. The price is on par with the regular Tide that I have been buying. The smell is pleasing. My whites are whiter. Although it doesn't give all the ingredients it does include biodegradable surfactants and enzymes.
Any dislikes.
I still have to add a little bleach to my washing for really stubborn stains. I learned my lesson years ago, and now add the bleach to the water before adding the clothes. I have ruined too many tee shirts or jeans in the past. If it is a stain on a white article I use the Clorox bleach pen.
After purchasing my bottle of Tide Coldwater, I did a delicate wash. Not only was I happy with the smell of my undies, the colors were bright and looked like new.
My 80 oz. bottle is blue and has the Tide logo on it. The screw on top is the measuring cap for adding the detergent.
So now I am switching from Tide to Tide Coldwater as my detergent. I still think they have work to do to achieve a product that will clean anything. Until then this comes a close second.
As with most products there is a caution with Tide Coldwater. It may irritate eyes. Do not get in eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Then it gives first aid treatment.
If you have any questions there is a telephone number 1-800-879-8433.
Also it is safe for septic tanks, and contains no phosphate.
So how about taking the challenge and writing a review.
Susie.
