It's Hard to Choose, But Here it isJul 03 '01 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line Some great movies were made in the 80's, movies that stand the test of time, they are timeless and well worth going beyond my list. First, here are my honorable mentions: Flash Dance; Footloose; Gremlins; Lethal Weapon; Rainman; Die Hard. Here are my picks for the Top Ten several of my favorite movies are left out, because I could only pick Ten so I took the top grossing movies 1980-1989 and picked the ones I liked, that I think you will too. The order has no importance, except it gives the list order. 1. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial This is the movie that introduces the public to Drew Barrymore that matters to me, I think shes great. Steven Spielberg did an excellent job and this movie stands the test of time. 2. Big This movie was released back when I liked Tom Hanks and thought more about his role on Bosom Buddies than his Oscars. This is a must see movie for Tom Hanks fans. 3. The Blues Brothers John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd are the Blues Brothers and this is their story. The comedy still works and will work forever, thats just my opinion. 4. Batman With the music of PRINCE and Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton as the star. This is the first and best of the Batman movies. 5. Caddyshack Bill Murray has never been better, add golf and you have me and this movie will make you laugh. A must see for Bill Murray fans. 6. Back To The Future The first and best in the series, they are all good movies and still hold up after many viewings. 7. Raiders of The Lost Ark I love this movie, it was a hoot when I was a child and I love to be with people when they see it for the first time. 8. Tootsie A man in drag has never been handled better. Dustin Hoffman does an amazing job. 9. Risky Business Tom Cruise, this is the movie that made you a star and when you compare this movie to Mission Impossible II, there is no contest. Risky Business is a must see for Tom Cruise fans. 10. Ghostbusters Ghostbusters works on every level and the latest DVD is fantastic, you must see this movie. |
