Very true ...
Thats what thrift stores are for
It makes it easy to give stuff away, in turn they sell it and many thift stores use the money to help the salvation army and things like that.
I have purchased many items at thift stores over the years.

Lots of people can't bring themselves to get rid of stuff they don't use because they are attached to it sentimentally somehow. A guy I used to work with explained this strategy to me: Put everything you know you need to get rid of but don't want to get rid of on a table or in a room. Take a picture of all of the stuff. Keep the picture; throw the stuff away.
My own addition: Even better than throwing it away, give it to someone who can use it. You can make someone else happy and at the same time eliminate an item you won't need. And you won't feel so bad about getting rid of it if you know someone else is benefitting from it.
