Beautifully detailed and entertaining! (Reply to this comment)

Egad, did I ever get it wrong. Got my diamond on our first anniversary. What knee? He proposed to me with our faces covered with dirt, two raccoon masks around our eyes where the sunglasses were. No, we aren't off-roaders or dirt-bikers...well, Epinions didn't exist 'way back then. I'd go into detail, but it just occurred to me I could make my own Epinion outta this.

Excellent review!

A great review with excellent info.... (Reply to this comment)

But I would never base or worry about my marriage on the price of a ring. To me it's not all that important as the other things in life that make up a relationship.

Lucky Woman! (Reply to this comment)
by LEDOMAINE
Your wife. She got a man who understands the important things in an engagement :) But, seriously, I feel as if I just became a certified gemologist! Well done, and very resourceful editorial. No wonder it's racked up so many hits in such a short time. Any man about to "pop the question" should stop here, first! Enjoyed your lesson on proper proposal strategies.

Hmm.. seems to be working, maybe I mistyped the address in my haste to get the comment up so you didn't feel I was rating it unfairly.

I didn't know about the other category either. I found the new location and rated it appropriately.

Thanks for coming by!

hello - your email address is not working? (Reply to this comment)
by NotreDameMBA
Hi Dee,

Great Epinion. I tried to send you an email, but apparently your email address is not working - maybe Hotmail suspended it?

Anyway, here was my email to you:

Thanks for your rating and comment. I left a response to yours, but here it is just so you don't have to re-read it:

Thanks for your explanation. I really wanted to just write a piece on immunizations, and in particular, tetanus. However, there is no category anywhere here just on general advice on health

Therefore, the best I could do was this category. This really highlights one of the few frustrating things about Epinions - the lack of comprehensive categories and products.

Thank you though for your comment.

It takes more than a ring (Reply to this comment)

to make a marriage. I haven't worn mine in years. When we married WWII was on, money was scarce but love was not. We have been married for 56 years and it wasn't the ring that made it last. Cute review though.

You people are too much :)

Your comments make the writing so much more worthwhile than just hoping someone will get an idea, or make a more informed purchase.

I can't express how much I appreciate all your comments, trusts and time spent reading/rating. Thanks again!

great story...! (Reply to this comment)

I remember getting on one knee, which was tough since my knees were literally shaking when I asked her!

I hid the thing on the Christmas Tree and at one point it was practically knocked over sending me into a dive to save it, and the diamond!

This was such a GREAT article! It was informative about diamonds and about proposing and such a sweet story. I hope that all those who propose and buy an engagement ring put enough research and effort that you did. Excellent, excellent work on this article and I look forward to reading more of your opinions. And the fireworks proposal was just too cute, to boot!

I enjoyed the story AND the advice...it sounds like you swept your gal off her feet with your proposal! It's true, too, women want the kind of romance they read about; it has to start somewhere! Excellent editorial.
