That people dont know there rights as consumers under Federal/State/Local law. Many of these laws gives you rights you thought you never had. The 50 dollar limit on liability is one of them. Basically, if the company can not prove that you made the purchase, you dont have to pay for it above 50 bucks. Most companies now have zero liability policies that limit you from ANY illicate purchases using the card.

I love you for your honesty Armywife! I work at a job where I am not allowed to go to the bathroom except on my lunch break or my 2 real short breaks. I sometimes go 16 hours without anything to drink. I can't drink all day before work or on my eight hour shift or I suffer for hours from needing to go to john. What makes it worse is the bathroom is 20 feet from my desk. Is this legal?
PS--don't I know you from YIF forums?

This was an informative review, but only dealt with a small aspect of what people should know about credit cards. I'll go check out some of your other reviews.

You are right about the Federal Law..but what the company should be doing is selling this as a notification service for all your credit cards. Ie., if you have ten credit cards and your wallet is stolen you can make ONE phone call and all your cards will be replaced. Most credit card companies offer this registration service free on platinum cards.

I agree with you that it is a waste of money for most consumers. I used to be a telemarketer for a major credit card company, and we always avoided being sneaky in selling the cards and extra services.
