EBgames.com sells video games and more. It is one of the few places that you can get older games for systems like the Sega Genesis or the Nintendo NES. We were looking for some video games for some of our old systems on eBay but realized after we paid shipping so many times it was no longer a deal.
We went to EBgames.com primarily to buy games for the Genesis. Normally we just go to the Brick and Mortar EB Games but it seems that they do not stock the old things anymore. The selection of used games online is much larger than the local stores. There are currently 409 choices under Pre-played Genesis games and they start as cheap as $.99 with the most expensive game being only $6.
Since my son needed more Game Boy Advance (GBA) games we took at look at their used GBA section. GBA games can be sorted by all pre-played games or into categories such as action, role playing, strategy, etc. If you know exactly what you want you can enter the tile into the search box. Used GBA games range from $6-$30. Of course you can buy new games as well.
If you find a game that you are interested in you can click it to reveal all information related to the game. You will see the image of the front of the box, rating, several screenshots, price both new and used, store availability, written description, detailed features, specifications, media coverage link, and customer reviews.
I love how this site is set up because it makes for one stop shopping. If I were going to buy the game at a store I would need to do all the research like look at the screenshots and read customer reviews. There are ample customer reviews on the product as well. For example, my son was asking for Pokemon: FireRed. When I looked at the product information for this I found 53 screenshots and 162 customer reviews.
Even if you still prefer to buy the games in the store you can still do the legwork online. The stores are usually very crowded and I know that before we found the website we would drive to three different malls in one day looking for used games that we might like.
Our local store is only a few miles down the road but does not do us any good if they do not carry the games that we play. Now we can save even more with the in-store pick up option. You can order your items through the website and arrange to pick it up at your local EB Games Store. They will email you when the games are ready. There is a purchase minimum of 3 titles to use this service.
Another great thing about the in-store pickup service is that you do not have to pay for the items until you are in the store so you will not have to worry about putting your credit card online.
Shipping prices are determined by the grand total and how quickly you want it to arrive. The cheapest shipping is $2-$3 which takes a little while to arrive. Quicker service is available for $8-$11. EBgames.com does not ship on the weekends.
The website also has an option to build a Wish List. We used this at Christmas time. We had our son sit down at our computer and add the ones that were interesting to him to the wish list. He is interested in the screen shots so he can see them easily on the site. Once he was done we could choose ones from his list so what he actually would receive would still be a surprise to him. Since games are not the type of things that are easily returned we went with the wish list.
Returns can be made within 30 days. The majority of their items can not be returned if opened such as new or used games, software, computer hardware, DVD, or action figures. If the item is open and defective then it can be exchanged for another exact item. Shipping is not refundable. Exchanges or returns can be done at the brick and mortar store.
EBgames.com offers a large selection of games for many platforms such as Playstation 2, Playstation, Xbox, Game cube, all game boys, Dreamcast, N64, Super Nintendo, Nintendo NES, and Sega Genesis.
They also sell movies in DVD format both new and used.
They have some personal computer (PC) items that would be necessary for playing video games on the computer such as sound cards, joysticks, microphones, game pads, etc.
They also sell collectible items such as Action Figures and various trading cards in the toy section.
I used a discount coupon code that I found online and then I received a coupon from EB Games for 50% off of my next order so I ordered more. The games came quickly considering the minimal amount we paid for shipping. The used items were repackaged nicely and everything was in working order. We were pleased with our orders and will continue to buy our games through their site.
