Cook without cooking!
Written: Apr 13 '01
Pros:Easy to use, easy to clean, and so much you can with it!
Cons:None so far.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this product for anyone who is looking for ease of use and very little know-how.
When I received my Rival 4-Quart Slow Cooker as a housewarming gift, my first thought was "what am I going to do with this?" Now that I've had it for 3 years, I know. I have found plenty of tasty recipes for slow cookers and even come up with a few of my own.
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY CROCK POT
*I can cook a hearty meal all day long while only spending a short amount of time preparing the food. This gives me more time to do the things I love, like spending time with my son.
*I can serve in the same pot I cooked in.
*Most of the family favorites (ribs, wings, spaghetti, chili, stew, roasts, etc...) can be cooked in the Rival Slow Cooker.
*The pot comes out for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe.
*The 4 Qt Crock Pot is just the right size for cooking for two and having some leftovers or for potluck cooking.
*The outer body of the pot has a pretty ivy design on it, which is a common theme in many homes, and the stoneware pot has a green glaze, which is also makes an attractive serving dish.
THINGS I DON'T LIKE
There's not a lot I don't like about the crock pot, other than the fact that it doesn't travel well when full. It would be nice if there was a way to make the lid stay shut tight during the ride.
Overall, I have been very happy with this product. If it ever wears out or breaks, I would gladly purchase a new one to replace it.
A LITTLE TRICK
Don't know how to cook? Throw in some canned or frozen already made soup, stew, or chili in the morning, turn on the pot, and heat. Someone somewhere will think you cooked it yourself! :)
