My friend has this one, actually he had the dell 7500 but that got screwed up only after a few months, they took months to send in a guy, and when he came to fix it, he didnt have a clue to what he was doing and made it worse. Then finally a few more months and another 100 phonecalls and they agreed to replace his 7500 with the newer 8000.
The dell 8000 is a good laptop, not the best buy, but one of the first laptops that has everything you want, even 32 mbs of video memory(thats a good thing) Of course the base price of 2500 doesnt stand a chance, and often goes upto 2900-3300. But its biggest flaw is that its BIG! Its heavy, big, close to being the biggest new laptop at the moment and very bulky, So if you are thinking of buying this one and chugging it along with you everywhere, youll face a few problems. In fact my friend could not find a backpack for his laptop at first since it did not fit in any of the laptop sleeves. Another thing is the screen, its big and has a high resolution and everything, but just doesnt has a feel good quality about it. If you are a college student, and ready to spend big bucks, go for it. If you want to buy it for the home, its good but a sony vaio would be my choice, and if its for business forget it. Just too big.
