My family had previously stayed at a Quality Inn in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and enjoyed our stay very much, due much to the layout of the room. My wife and I got our own room with a door, and the kids go to sleep in the living area (like they usually do at home!), and we had a small kitchenette in the hallway to prepare quick meals to help reduce travel expenses. This was the ideal room for us, and we couldn't ask for more.
But we confused Quality Inn with the entire Choice Hotels group of hotels and booked a room at a Sleep Inn in O'Fallon, Illinois (read my review of this horrible experience). We will never make this mistake again. Before leaving Sleep Inn, we made reservations at this Quality Inn in Hannibal, Missouri.
Like our stay in OKC, our stay at Quality Inn in Hannibal, Missouri, was perfect (unlike our stay at Sleep Inn). The Suite was similar to our OKC suite in that my wife and I had our privacy, the kids had the living area, there was a small kitchenette. The pool here was also larger than the Sleep Inn pool (not mentioned in my Sleep Inn review). The kids of course liked this Quality Inn situation better than Sleep Inn. The room was mid-grade hotel and affordable. The TV was large enough to be seen from across the room (unlike the Sleep Inn TV).
The complimentary breakfast at the Quality Inn in Hannibal was considerably better than Sleep Inn's too. They actually had someone attending the small bar to replenish food when necessary. Waffle mix was never empty. Biscuits and gravy were present on the bar. People were enjoying their breakfasts up until the time the bar closed at 11 AM. Food was also of anticipated quality.
Though we had planned to only stay one night at the Hannibal Quality Inn, we stayed two nights so the kids could swim some more before leaving the area.
In fact, Quality Inn was the bright spot for those few days we spent in the northeast region of Missouri! Just ask our kids!
