The Bottom Line When rating a review you must be honest and don't rate it not helpful just to be mean. People try to write good reviews, so don't mess that up.
There is a scale used by people when rating epinions. Some choose to use a grammar related one, others use one that is based on content and facts. A good rater uses both scales and combines them to make a scale that can be respected and non-questionable. This is my scale and you will now understand my rating when you see them. Very Helpful This is what we all grasp for when writing an epinion. To achieve this means we wrote something that people liked an used for their decision. When I rate something very helpful it must be grammatically sound with few spelling errors. I cannot stand when something is spelled wrong or used in the incorrect tense. The epinion must also include useful clear facts and have reasons to back up the rating. Helpful This is the above average rating that people are happy with but wish for something more. I give people this rating when the review uses fair amounts of grammar and spelling. The epinion has some facts and gives me some help in my decision of the product. The review has good facts but doesn't back up its rating. Somewhat Helpful The rating that people don't like to see because it means sub-par quality. This is given by me if the epinion has few facts and doesn't help me to much at all about the product. And the review is weighed down by grammar errors and misspelled words. The review doesn't really make me choose to buy the product or not, it leaves me trying to decide for myself which is why I read the epinion in the first place. Not Helpful A rating that is hated by all the people here at epinions. It means that you might as well not written anything at all. You can be sure to get this rating from me by not including facts or backing up your reasoning. The grammar is almost non existant and the spelling makes me shake my head in frustration. You are guaranteed this if you just write a bunch of crap and don't sound like you know anything about the product.  |
