Alibris has a kickin-fun look to them in blues and oranges. They brag that they have over 50 million new and used books available. That's a little misleading. What they mean to say is that they are fairly certain they can obtain that many if you want them. You see, after you place your order they pop your card then set about finding the book you want.
You can browse the site by looking at the staff picks or current top sellers of the site, but with the massive choices you're best off knowing what it is you're looking for exactly and do a straight search for it. (They do also have movies and music.)
This isn't just all about current books. Make no mistake. They have endless resources World-wide and are the most likely bet to find any old/rare books you are looking for. They keep close track of who they are using and make sure that if a vendor promised a book, they will actually deliver it to you in a very timely maner.
If they cannot find your book, they do refund the charges very rapidly. We placed an order for two books which were autographed by the authors. The next day there was a refund placed in our account for the one they found they couldn't get after all. The other was to ship from Australia and they did keep us apprised of when it shipped and how. It arrived right on time as promised and in excellent shape.
They accept most major credit cards, and shipping charges are entirely dependant on where, exactly, they locate the book you are looking for.
There is nothing I can do but go with a full 5 stars for Alibris. The customer service was top notch on the rapid refund of the one book they couldn't find and the email updates are just fantastic. Everything I've ordered from them has arrived packaged excellently and just as promised. I have total confidence ordering from them.
