Pros:Looks good! Feels heavy duty!
Cons:Does not last very long. Mine quit on me after one month!
The Bottom Line: Most brands of camcorder batteries are pretty reliable. However...the "Again And Again" is not!

About eight months ago I ordered three brand new batteries for my Magnavox VHS camcorder as football season was upon us and I am the team videographer. I ordered a Lenmark an Empire and this one...Again And Again Lead Acid Camcorder Battery. The other two are doing well but this particular lead acid battery had to be returned! I purchased the no memory unit from "The Twister Group". The Again And Again battery comes in several styles and ratings depending on your camera.

The battery lasted about four or five games before it failed me during a play! This of course is a no-no and at first I thought it to be just a freak of nature thing. I thought to myself...well that's odd as I am sure I gave the unit a proper full charge. Then...I just figured that it just discharged for whatever reason early as it worked for twenty minutes. This type of battery typically gives ninety minutes to two hours of quality video shooting.

Luckily I was able to switch batteries quickly...just barely in time for the next play! I can tell you as a videographer...You just DO NOT want to miss a play! Suppose it's a big moment. What explanation can justify this foul crime? I can tell you from first-hand experience...NONE!! Remember...Murphy's Law always takes precedence over Ohm's!

I thought maybe I accidentally hit the "Discharge/Refresh" button on the charger which you do not want to do while charging a lead acid no-mem battery. The "Refresh" is for ni-cad battery types only!

Still, luckily the other two batteries I had worked to perfection as newer camcorder batteries should. Then it dawned on me later that this particular model battery for review here...The Again And Again Lead Acid Camcorder Battery may have had some shelf life as it was the last one in stock at the time of purchase. I know this for a fact because Twister's on-line in-stock quantity indicated as such. Regardless...this is no excuse for an unused item.

After the game...I attempted to recharge the battery and it appeared to have charged fully at first. But as soon as it was placed in the camcorder and the power turned on...it discharged immediately! Two more attempts at recharging were made to no avail as obviously...the battery must have developed an internal short.

The Twister Group did credit me the price of the battery minus shipping charge which wound up equaling half the battery's cost. Well...at least they attempted to satisfy the situation but they really need to do something about their "single item shipping charges".

A bad battery like the "Again And Again" only makes me think to myself...well never again! The very name itself more than implies ideally...a heavy duty item that should last a very long time. Obviously...quite the opposite is reality! I just wanted to warn camcorder owners about this brand as it looks, feels and has specs equivalent to the many other more reliable brands...but it just does not measure up...at least from my experience and viewpoint.
