The Bottom Line The future is here...
It’s time to get excited folks… I worked for a company that is developing, and is releasing the newest in Mobile Computing Apparatuses. This device tracks where you are with a GPS system, and communicates via wireless modem in your car to give you instant directions, or help you find something you need by the touch of a button. How does this thing work? And what does it do? What it does is pinpoint where you are in the world by communicating with a satellite using a GPS tracking system (as you have seen in Airplanes, and now the devices hikers use to track them if they get lost). This device not only tells you where you are, but it will tell you how to get to a specific address turn by turn. All you do is enter your desired location, and the directions will be read to you by a pre selected voice communicator, while showing you where you are, and where you want to go on a map. It is currently working off of windows CE, and a Sony PDA. If you get hungry and want to know where the nearest McDonald’s is, the map will show you where the closest restaurant is, and give you turn-by-turn directions. It will also let you know if there are any traffic incidents, construction, or any other type of road hazards on your route. As well as speed traps provided by SpeedTrap.com. What is next? How about accessing your email in the car? This device will eventually be able to read off your email to you as you drive down the road. As well as many other features currently in the works.
