The Bottom Line Clean, refrigerated carrots.

I am on baby number three. I think you find out right after the first baby that all that fancy crap just isn't worth it.

The best teether I have found for the girls -- carrot sticks. Not the baby ones, the big ones.

I just buy a bag of carrot sticks, wash them with the scouring side of a clean or new dish sponge (that is used for veggies), cut off the tips so everything is thick, not thin and pointy, and stick them in a Ziploc bag with a paper towel (to absorb the extra moisture).

They are nice and cold, they don't break easily, baby can bite as hard as s/he wants, and it is nutritious.

Now, please remember, don't leave the baby alone in the baby jail (crib) or in the high chair so they can gag themselves to their little hearts content or anything. :) Just a disclaimer.
