It's in the "Bag"

The Bottom Line You need a "Barney Bag"
I just traveled alone with my 3 mo old, 2-1/2 yr old and 5-1/2 yr old girls from Virginia to Alaska. This is what I learned...
Get a duffle bag... one large enough to fit a weekend of clothes for just you (necessities, I'm talkin').
In this, you need:
* Lollipops (sugar free if needed)
* Nutritious Snack (peanut butter or cheese crackers, etc.)
* Fun candy (you know, the old candy necklaces and things)
* Drinks (Kool-Aid Twisters worked well)
* Gum (for airplanes -- ears popping)
* Liquid Ibuprofen (new bottle -- great for adults, too)
* Travel Tissues
* Spill-proof cups (if needed)
* Frozen Ice Packs (I used the ones from my breastpump)
You also need the following, purchased on the sly without the kids ever seeing:
* crayons
* coloring books (one for each -- maybe one for you, too)
* toy (I bought a Vtech Mouse Play Deluxe on sale for $15.00)
Everything I purchased was used. I think I spent about $35.00 total... and OH WOW was it worth it, too.
Also, keep extra things in the bag... I packed extra diapers for Lauren (2 yrs) and Morgan (3 mos) as well as a little bit of money, some change, baby wipes. We were delayed leaving Norfolk and missed our connection in Newark, so we had to stay the night... I made it with one diaper left by the time we arrived.
I wished I had packed another light change of clothes for each child (I ended up hand washing everyone's clothing and drying them with a hair dryer).
Happy Trails!
