No Problems Here (Reply to this comment)
by lizzard2060
Here in MN my boyfriend had bought a plush top mattress from them in 2003 and have had no problems with it. I bought a temperpedic from them in Oct 2008 and while there was some delivery confusion and issues I talked to the head manager and they got me the bed in the very short time frame I had (pre-surgery). They even called other stores to find it. Seems they really work independently. Have had no problems with my bed through surgery and two back breaking pregnancies.

Retail Outlet does not make products (Reply to this comment)
by schoolnyou
I understand the problem when buying a mattress set and you get it home and it not what you expected. The store you bought it from does not make the product. They should try to get the product warranted for you but they don't make the final call on that. The consumers attitude goes a long way to the amount of help you get in the store when you have a problem. Please keep in mind the pillow top mattress will get a body impression faster than a non pillow top and you should be using a moisture protector because the human body sweats 3 to 4 gallons a month most of that at night. That sweat has a lot of acid in it and it breaks down the comfort layers in the bed. All beds are going to get a body impression. They are not a sign of a bad bed. The bed will learn your body and conform to you. If you do not like the idea of body impressions I suggest you look at TempurPedic, Sealy Latex, or the new Kingsdown line of soy based foam beds. I have been on the retail side of the Mattress business for a year and I never thought there was so much to beds but there is and it is the most important thing you can buy to improve your life and you use it more than anything else on a daily bases, well maybe your shoes. Your in both the bed and your shoes 8 hours a day. So spend the money and get the best you can afford.

re.re.re.BAIT AND SWITCH NEW PORT RICHIE STORE (Reply to this comment)
by masterdonald
WORST EXPERIENCE YET!!!!!!!!
THE TAG TEAM NAMES ARE TED AND RAHL
after coming to an agreed apon price Ted (salesman)assures me that the NEW mattress will be delivered on friday 09/19/08
I made the purchase (MISTAKE) on thursday 09/18/08
I asked RAHL the manager to show me the difference between a NEW bed and a DMO......
The three of us walked to the back room where the storage is and Rahl showed me the yellow tag stating state requirements of the cleaned / used bed .........so with that ammo in mind I certainly would be safe right?(NOT)
the dmo /NEW bed shows up and boy oh boy am i ticked I Immediatly called Ted the salesman he assured me that RAHL, had done the deed. And in no way did he have anything to do with the dmo ordered ........ so TED tells me back to assure me a NEW bed will be there monday and, to..quote: (go ahead and sleep on the bed ) as if i forgot what he told me about sleeping on a mattress then asking to retirn it ......... that will cost you 150 dollars tro bacfk out of a mattress he told me thursday night .............
anyhow AT ALL COST AVOID THE GIANT YOU WILL BE HAD
I will call the bank to reverse the charges (hopefully) as TED and RAHL have certainly lost my business for good!!!!!!!!!!

which begs the question why you have not once posted an opinion since you joined back almost a year ago. You have commented here, and maybe elsewhere, but have not posted an opinion. Uusally that is what a schill does and is frowned on by the community. Since you have not posted an opinion on anything, you don't have any credibility as far as I am concerned.

Mattress Giant Sucks (Reply to this comment)
by careydp
As the lady said, "run the other way." Mattress Giant has got to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with (I'm in the Beaumont, TX area). I bought a TempurPedic adjustable bed from them. When the delivery men came, one of the adjustable bases was obviously "used." Turns out it had been on display in the Beaumont store. I accepted the base conditionally, signing on the delivery ticket that I was accepting the used base until a new one could be delivered. When I called my salesman at the store, Curly Thompson, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, although I learned later that he participated in wrapping the demonstrator base to make it appear as though it were a new one. It was actually the delivery guy who pointed it out to me that it was a display unit being shipped. Someone should have called me to let me know this was going to happen. I would have just told them to wait until they had a new one to ship. I had to take off work to meet the delivery men.
So Curly is supposed to have delivery of a new one setup, to exchange for the display. Only the delivery guys never show. So I have to call him again. Turns out, he never turned in the order for the new to be delivered. At this point I'm tired of dealing with them, and ask about discounting the display model. So Curly gives me a "Credit Memo" for a $300.00 discount. Sounds pretty good, right. Well, turns out he never processes the credit either, so when I get my first bill from Wells Fargo, who financed the bed, it doesn't reflect the credit, although there had been plenty of time to have it show on my bill. So I call Wells Fargo, and they don't even show a credit pending. That's when I called the Houston office that had contacted me about delivery the first time, and they were the ones who informed me that the credit had never been turned in (way to go, Curly). Obviously, these guys are shady yahoos whom I will never do business with again. I'm still waiting for a call from some regional manager so I can tell this story to someone who might be able to get something done. But the bottom line is this: I'm not paying a dime to Wells Fargo until I'm satisfied. If WF doesn't receive my first payment or subsequent payments on time has them reporting me to one of the credit bureaus, I'll dispute it. I'm planning to write letters to inform Mattress Giant to pick up their products, and clear my account with WF, and I'll write WF and the three major credit bureaus at the same time. I'll buy the same bed from someone who hopefully is more reputable.
Don't every do business with Mattress Giant. I suspect my salesman is just a sympton of a larger problem of shady dealings.

Mattress Giant spells Happiness in my book!!! (Reply to this comment)
by happyb
I was so surprised to read your comment. I was wondering what type of mattress could do this. I just bought an Airsprung Eurotop matress with an
Optima adjustable bed from Dan in the Peabody Ma
office. After having a Craftmatic salesman come to
my home I was leary about making such an expensive purchase sight unseen and not being able to return it. I bought a matress from this same Mattress Giant 3 years ago and was very happy with the King Koil twin bed. After 3 hours researching matresses and adjustable bed frames I went list in hand to this store. Dan was a good listener and spent over an hour answering my questions and showing me the differnces between mattresses. I tried laying on at least 10 different ones before selecting the Airsprung Eurotop with the Optima adjustable bed with massage. It has been a week since I bought it and I LOVE it.. I have neuropathy and neuralgia and was sleeping about 2 hours a night. I could not get my legs comfortable before. Problem solved. Sleeping on this bed is like sleeping on a cloud... I fell asleep after 10 minutes. Dan explained the stores return policy fully as well as the warranty. It has been 3 years since my first purchase and I had no need to return that bed and see no reason to have to return this one.
I have read that the pillowtop mattresses without the double stitched borders tend to slide off the
matresses in time. So I wonder if this was the
type you purchased. Sorry for your bad experience but thrilled with my excellent one. My bed was delivered the next day on time. Even the
delivery people were curteous and professional. I
was able to work with Dan on pricing and spent
within my budget. A great investment for my overall health and happiness.. When you purchase online you have to pay shipping to return a bed your not happy with. Not so when you purchase locally and try out your bed before buying. With Craftomatic you buy sight unseen and cannot return after 5 days. Even if bed is delivered on the 7th day you are stuck with it....

Deceptive Marketing by Mattress Giant (Reply to this comment)
by Mani2000
We wanted to buy a king size mattress, so we shopped around; since Mattress Giant store was near our house my wife suggested that we should shop at that store. Although the sales person was not very helpful but we found what he wanted; so we asked them the final price. Next day I called the Mattress giant and made my offer and he accepted so I went to buy the mattress. Ironically, he refused to sell me the price he quoted over the phone.
To me it was an unprofessional and despicable reflection on Mattress Giant's part. I called their regional manager named George; he took his sales mans side, and flatly refused to accept his sales man's fault. I urge everyone to stay away from Mattress Giant; these people are nothing but a waste of time. By the way this happened in Houston Texas; and the store is located on highway six.

Why blame them (Reply to this comment)
by bigdaddy32
I wanted the public to know that its not the retailer (Mattress Giant) you need to be mad at because of a faulty product, its the MFG. I recently had to exchange a bed or try to anyways at the Mattress Firm. I was told that my bed was stained and I was S.O.L. I went directly to Sealy and they acted like my business did not matter and said that if Mattres Firm took it back they would have to eat the cost and would receive no credit since it was stained. I had it professionaly cleaned ($120) and they (Sealy) still would not honor it. Slo its not the retailers its the Mfg we need to attack. The retailer can only do what they are allowed to do by the Mfg suggestions.

Mattress Giant changes for the BETTER!! (Reply to this comment)
by bigdaddy32
FYI Mattress Giant has a new CEO and a whole new attitude! I can definately tell a difference from the days 2-3 years ago when I went in to buy a mattress and was treated like my business only mattered that day! I recently went back to the Arlington store and had a wonderful experience and the salesperson there was very professional and helpful. He told me that he had even left the company because of the past treatment of customers, only to come back when he heard there was new ownership. I had a really pleasant buying experience this time and will definately return there again. Sincerely, Jim B. Arlington Tx.

Mattress Giant NO WAY (Reply to this comment)
by mcarr810
Went into Mattress Giant on Columbus Day only to be told by a salesperson that their Columbus Day sale ended yesterday. Asked her how could that be? She shrugged and said I don't know. I asked her to ask the manager. He then said I'll honor anything that was on sale on Columbus Day. I then picked out a Serta Tresco queen set that was advertised at half price during the sale. He said no I won't honor that.
Message don't buy from an organization that doesn't keep their word. Especially when they don't even have your money yet. I am escalating this to their VP of stores. His name is Mr. Neihause (972) 416-1750.
Should he call it I will print the results in another post

a story years ago on one of those prime time news shows. It was about the refurbishment & sale of used mattresses. YUK! They showed several families who had gotten sick from these mattresses that they bought thinking they were new.
Something seems fishy.
