Plain and Simple: or Pi$$ poor and Sorry

The Bottom Line If there is a line at the service desk, beware!!!

I was recently in London Ky. vacationing at our State Resort Park, when I had to run into town to pick up a few things for our camping venture.

I am a regular shopper of Wal Mart, as our town of Somerset has recently graduated from a Wal Mart to a Super Wal Mart. I am a dedicated shopper you could say.

Anyway, I found out that London Ky. had a Super Wal Mart, so off I go on a buying excursion. I found the store with NO problem, but I found the service pi$$ poor and sorry.

I went to house ware/maintenance because I needed an adapter for our R.V. from a 15-volt to a 30 or 50 volt. Both salesmen that waited on me looked at me like I was out of my mind, and they went with me back to the isle of extension cords to look for what I wanted, because I was persistent in what I needed. Needless to say, they might just as well laughed in my face, and told me to go to sporting goods.

Off I go, and on entering sporting goods, the salesmen that assisted me in house ware/maintenance must have called the sporting goods department, before I could get there, because upon my arrival, that salesperson had all kinds of cord ends for sporting equipment laying on the desk, and needless to say, none of what I needed. He then sent me to Automotives commenting that they had a few R.V. things there.

Whether that person called ahead or not, I could not get waited on. NO SERVICE what so ever!!! I found one type of cord that I thought was it after searching and searching. I then headed for the checkout, and paying quite a bit for what seemed to be such a complicated item to find and so very small for the price, I asked before paying that if this is not the item in need, could I return it. The response was yes as long as I had a receipt.

I got back to the R.V. only to find that it was the wrong type of plug end, so here I go again...

I got to the entrance of Wal Mart, and showed my return item to the store greeting person in which directed me to their service desk. "A line a mile long it seemed" I never seen so many local people returning items more than Christmas returns. I was talking to an older gentleman in front of me, in which he informed me that there was only 1 person working the service desk, because all of the others were on break at one time trying to get their paychecks.

I waited in the Service Center line for 40 minutes, and when I did get to the desk to return my purchase I got my butt chewed out by the clerk because my return was suppose to have a little pink sticker from the Store greeting person to acknowledge the return. That was it, I was way to angry, and I told her that I was not about to get out of line because the greeting person didn't do her job, and that I wanted my money back now!!! I was ready to fight with even the manager, which was conveniently unavailable.

I started commenting out loud about the service, and needless to say I had every ones attention that was in line.
I GOT MY MONEY!!! I was also being watched as I left the store only to never return. I am home from my trip now, and yes I will continue shopping at Wal Mart in my town, but that certain store needs to practice their manners!!!
