LUCAS AND SPIELBERG FILMSJul 8, 2001 Write an essay on this topic.The Bottom Line GEORGE LUCAS and STEVEN SPIELBERG are the biggest names in films. They are simply the best, and draw in more filmgoers than anyone else. Agree? The finest films by GEORGE LUCAS and STEVEN SPIELBERG always seem to get everyone's attention. They should. They seem to always be better than everyone else's films. Lucas does not have anyone tell him how do anything, as he is the sole owner of LUCASFILM LTD., ILM, SKYWALKER SOUND, CGI technology, SKYWALKER RANCH, LUCAS ARTS, LUCAS LICENCING, etc. Everything he does is self financed. SPIELBERG is the best living director. His two academy awards don't do him justice. He is a founding member of DREAMWORKS SKG, and owns AMBLIN ENTERTAINMENT. Thier films are loved and remembered more than anyone elses. How many times can you remember hearing STAR WARS references, or knowing what INDIANA JONES looks like? Thier films are part of our pop culture. Dave Letterman style top ten list: 10. SAVING PRIVATE RYAN 9. CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND 8. JURRASIC PARK 7. RETURN OF THE JEDI 6. SCHINDLER'S LIST 5. JAWS 4. E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTIAL 3. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK 2. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK 1. STAR WARS Obviously, you may personally list them in a different order, but whatever order you list them, they are all good...extremely good. Like the "WIZARD OF OZ", and, "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE", they are films that are enjoyed over, and over again. You always see something new, or get a great feeling seeing it again and again. It inspires children, and makes adults feel like kids again. (see my other current reviews)  |
